The ooma Hub and Scout VoIP Phone System provides clear voice over IP (VoIP) phone service through your broadband Internet service. The unit comes with lifetime free nation-wide calling and cheap international rates, eliminating pricey phone bills. The hub is packaged with a scout unit, providing an instant second phone line (with the same phone number as the first) and conference calling.
The hub and scout each use large, intuitive buttons to control basic functions like changing lines, retrieving voicemail, and send-to-voicemail. With the ooma service, your voicemail is stored online and can be retrieved from anywhere. Management is handled easily through your web browser, letting you view a call log, block unwanted numbers, purchase pre-paid international calling minutes, and find quick support for problems.

Comments about ooma Hub and Scout VoIP Phone System:
This VoIP has already paid for itself. Works great, saves money by eliminating long distance charges. And you don't need to have the PC turned on to use it, unlike Magic Jack.

Comments about ooma Hub and Scout VoIP Phone System:
I am very impressed with the ooma. It was VERY easy to install (we have cable), provides very clear sound, and is easy to operate. We're looking forward to cancelling the phone portion of our service once our phone number has been ported.
A note: If you have cable digital phone voicemail(i.e. you are waiting to port your number to ooma), you may have have a problem with the voicemail going to ooma if both are set to the same number of rings before voicemail picks up, ex. 4 rings. To resolve, just set your cable voicemail to pick up after the ooma setting, ex.5-6 rings.

Comments about ooma Hub and Scout VoIP Phone System:
I previously used Vonage. Switching the Ooma hub for the vonage router was dirt simple. I unplugged the phone from the vonage router and plugged it into the Ooma device after the on-line activation was complete and was good to go.
I did not port a number over, but that appeared to be a relatively easy process if needed.
Online activation of the Ooma took 5 minutes and worked as marketed.
