I use the Extreme Compact Flash in my Canon 5D Mark II. I would not use any other brand because my work cannot be redone. I am a wedding photographer and been using SanDisk for over 5 years and none of my cards have ever failed. I just follow three simple rules. 1.) Never erase or move photos from the card, only copy. 2.) Only format the card on the camera, not on a PC or MAC.. 3.) If dropped do not use on critical work because they may fail the card. These cards seem to flawless (some of mine have over a million image taken on them) if properly used and maintained.

I purchased two of these cards to use with my Nikon D700 digital camera. One of the cards works fine with my camera, pc, and mac. The second card was dead on arrival and would not work in my camera, pc, or mac. I'm a little disappointed that a premium, name-brand card would be dead on arrival.[...]

Comments about SanDisk 8GB Extreme CompactFlash Memory Card:
I've been using the SanDisk Extreme edition CF cards since 2004 and SanDisk has not failed yet. This new edition of Extreme CF card works well and fast with my brand-new Canon EOS 7D. Fast and always reliable are the reasons why I have chosen Sandisk. Wish I had purchased two of these during the last Christmas when they were on sale. The old Extreme editions came w/a data recovery software on a CD. This new edition comes w/a downloadable .exe file for 1-year but after the 1-year... it isn't free. Download the .exe file and save it to a USB flash drive. You may have a bad day in the future where you will need the help of the software to recover lost/unintentional deletion/corrupted files. Best wishes to all!

Comments about SanDisk 8GB Extreme CompactFlash Memory Card:
I have been using SanDisk memory cards and flash drives for a number of years now and have yet to have any issue. This is my first CF card, as I recently got a DSLR that required CF rather than SD that I had been using. Works as expected.
I am not sure how long it will continue to be offered, but the particular package I received came with a 1-yr trial subscription to the RescuePro recovery tool - another added bonus!

Comments about SanDisk 8GB Extreme CompactFlash Memory Card:
All my memory cards are Sandisk, I have never had one fail on me. I got this one, since the next extreme level up starts at 16gb and 90mb/sec. Since I didn't want to go that route, the 60mb is pretty quick itself. This is my second 8gb and very pleased with it.

Got to have lots of memory while in the field. For me, this would probably be a minimum size for the EOS 7D camera.

Comments about SanDisk 8GB Extreme CompactFlash Memory Card:
Sandisk cards have a well earned reputation for being reliable, I have never had a problem with them.
The Extreme series are faster (good for RAW in burst mode) and have higher temp rating.
The 8gb is a perhaps a little small in the modern world but works good as a backup.

Comments about SanDisk 8GB Extreme CompactFlash Memory Card:
B&H had an awesome deal and immediately purchased 3 cards to be used with D700 and D200, an upgrade from Ultra and Extreme versions. SD is a well established brand with proven reliability, so this upgrade was a welcoming addition to the bag. 8GB with 60/MB seems good enough for a serious enthusiast. Thanks B&H and SD!

I got this card for my canon 40D(10MP) with it I am able to shoot over 400 exposures in Raw+Jpeg. It writes very fast, I have no trouble shooting at maximum frame rate, there is no waiting for it to write so I can continue to shoot. Works well for shooting sporting events.

Comments about SanDisk 8GB Extreme CompactFlash Memory Card:
I have never used anything but Sandisk CF cards for my photography needs since I went digital so I really don't have anything to compare them to. I guess that says something though - I've never wanted to change brands! I have always been impressed by the quality and speed of these cards even though I'm not looking for the fastest card on the planet. When the Sandisk prices dropped recently, I bought up a bunch of these 8GB cards and they totally rock. I would highly recommend these cards to anyone!

Comments about SanDisk 8GB Extreme CompactFlash Memory Card:
I use a 32 GB 60MB/S card and got this 8 G card as a backup for my 5D MK2. When using the 60MB/S card, I noticed improved processing time over the slower "133X" (20 MB/S) speed chip immediately. The speed on the Compact Flash card allows a fast shutter speed camera or large format (21.1 Mpixel chip) to operate at it's full potential. (Including video) A slower card causes the buffer to fill and stops shooting sooner than a faster card. This has to do with the processing of the data, not just shutter speed. There are faster cards, (90MB/S) but price increases exponentially. This 8 GB 60MB/S card is a good all around workhorse. This in combination with a USB 3.0 reader makes this chip scream when downloading to a computer.

I have never had any problems with SanDisk which I have used for years. I can see a speed difference from the 30MB/s cards I had been using especially in uploading to the computer. I use them in Nikon D3 and D3s cameras.
