I recently updated my Canon 20D to a 7D. With the raw file size now more the 2X larger, I started to investigate larger capacity memory. The 7D supports CompactFlash with UDMA6 performance, so I was also interested faster memory.
After purchasing this memory, I ran my own tests. My original memory card was a SanDisk 4GB rated at 15MB/s. With the older card and the 7D I am able to capture 17 shots (using RAW only) before the buffer is full and the capture slows dramatically. It took approximately 26 seconds for the buffer to empty with no more pictures taken (based upon the red write light on the camera). I replaced the memory with the new 60MB/s SanDisk 32GB card. The buffer was still full after 17 raw shots. But, the huge difference was that the buffer was cleared after only 6 seconds.
Bottom line - is this card expensive? - Yes
Is this card worth it? - to me, yes
If you do high speed bursts frequently, this card is a big improvement. If you take single shots only, you will not notice any difference. Unless you get a high speed reader, then you will absolutely see the performance increase.

If you're willing to take the risk to stack up 32gb of files one a single card, then the Sandisk Extreme is the workhorse you are looking for. As long as you keep formatting only (never delete single files from the card) you should be all set.

As a professional photographer/cinematographer - the San Disk CF 32mb card is excellent. I have been using San Disk for 13 years now and have not once had a problem with a card (even put one thru the laundry once and it kept going). B&H has been a great source to purchase most of my photo/video gear, they are friendly, helpful and I always get my new products on time.

I bought this because I was tired of switching 16, 8, and 4 GB cards in my 7D. When B & H has a surprise sale on these the price is very good, so I picked one up and as always with SanDisk CF cards, I am very happy with it.

Picked 2 of these up during a recent sale. What's more to say---a great brand reputation, and terrific storage capacity/size. Shooting on a 7D, the cards hold approximately 1100 RAW files each. I don't shoot video, so I can't speak to that... I have not experienced any speed/delay problems with the 400x / 60MBs speed in my routine shooting of still frames, even with the 7D's 8-frames-per-second high speed rate, firing off about 20 shots in a row before noticing any lag. Would definitely recommend SanDisk and B&H!

I have several of these cards and never had any issues. While I only do weddings, they keep up with the burst rate on the 5D mkiii just fine and I never feel I'm waiting on the memory card to catch up. I don't buy any other brand either, Sandisk all the way!

We use these in Tascam SS-R1 digital audio recorders. They simply work, day-in and day-out. No muss, no fuss.
When your CD recorders die, replace them with solid state media like this, and also eliminate the recording time limit issue.

Shooting video on the 5D/7D for broadcast I need a card that is fast and I can trust so SanDisk is perfect.
I've used them for a few years now and they are my first choice.
Great with the free years subscription RescuePRO recovery software. It has saved me a couple of times when I had lost files on hard drives.
More expensive than other brands but I know that I can rely on it to do what it's supposed to do every time.

I bought this because I wanted to be able to photograph weddings I had booked without having to change my cards as frequently. I normally walk away from a wedding with somewhere around 3,000 images. BEST thing I've bought in a long time. Yes, it takes slightly longer to download just because it is a larger card with more RAW images on it. However, for me, that is a tradeoff I'm ready and willing to make so I'm not changing cards as often in a wedding. GREAT BUY! Thank you SanDisk!

Got this on sale at B&H. Great Product as always with sandisk extremes. However, having all that space on one card freaks me if I ever lose or damage the card. The card however is reliable
