The Canon Pixma iX7000 Inkjet Business Printer uses 6 individual ink cartridges and "PgR" (advanced ink technology) which incorporates 4 specially formulated LUCIA color pigment inks with a clear ink and high-intensity black pigment ink. The result is laser-quality text, and graphics on plain paper. The iX7000 can deliver color documents at resolutions up to 4800 x 1200dpi and can print a 4 x 6" photo in as fast as 44 seconds.
Designed with small or home offices in mind, the iX7000 can handle a range of paper sizes from 4 x 6" to 13 x 19", including letter, legal and envelopes. It has a built-in Ethernet connection so it can be shared with multiple users on a network, a large capacity 250-page front document feeder and automatic two-sided printing.
Plus, built into the iX700 is Auto Photo Fix II, a technology that automatically categorizes photo images into one of five types...Portrait, Scenery, Night Scenery, Snapshot with Scenery, and Snapshot with Night Scenery. It then automatically optimizes exposures to deliver accurate color and skin tones.

Comments about Canon Pixma iX7000 Inkjet Business Printer:
It's a decent large format printer. A bit slower compared to the previous HP2800. The 2800 was a disaster compared to the HP1700 it replaced. The Canon's regular document quality printing has some banding but we were well impressed with the photo quality. It meets the niche it was intended for. [...]

Comments about Canon Pixma iX7000 Inkjet Business Printer:
The Pixma7000 is just about the nicest large format printer. I especially like the rugged construction and the color output. I use the printer daily in the office for desktop publishing using the 11x17 format. The duplex feature is awesome. I print approx. 500 sheets per day. I isn't anything that I find con about it.Great printer.

Comments about Canon Pixma iX7000 Inkjet Business Printer:
Fast, reliable, network printer. Handles up to 13x19" paper. What more can you ask for?
It uses only 4 ink carts (vs 8+ in the other tabloid format Canon printers) so you don't have to keep as many in stock.

We use for proofing web pages, book covers, brochure design, and anything for printed material for marketing.
Simple installation, ours is on a MAC, and so far absolutely flawless performance.
It is a large printer, but when you need to work with large layouts you don't have much choice.

Comments about Canon Pixma iX7000 Inkjet Business Printer:
I needed a printer that can handle different types and sizes of paper with good quality. It took a couple of hours to figure out the settings but the reaults are quite nice. I can make 11X17 posters that look as good as any from the print shop and limited runs of photo quality prints without having to buy in bulk to bring the price down. Not the fastest printer but the quality is good and no waiting for the print shop and putting up with snotty "techs" who are way too busy to help.

Comments about Canon Pixma iX7000 Inkjet Business Printer:
The printer was easy to hook up to the network and prints from my desk PC and from my wi-fi Mac. The software that came with it has made my print jobs easy. The printer is huge, heavy, and requires two people to move it. The only issue I have is that when paper feeds from the cassette, it literally rattles the office. When large format paper is fed manually or from the rear feed it is extremely quiet. The print head is very quiet. I have contacted Canon to see if the noise level is standard and they have been very helpful. They have asked me to phone them so that they can listen to the printer. They will replace if it is louder than they expect.

Comments about Canon Pixma iX7000 Inkjet Business Printer:
I use this printer as the main business printer for my photography business (not for printing photos). It is a fantastic printer and prints on large paper should I need to make a quick marketing piece for my business. It took a while to set up and although I ran into some problems, Canon support was quick and easily walked me through the steps to complete the set up. (I have it running off a wireless LAN so that I can print from my desktop which is across the room )
At this time, I cannot comment on ink consumption as I have just set this up and tested it with a few items.

Comments about Canon Pixma iX7000 Inkjet Business Printer:
I'm a graphic design student that was in need of a large-format printer. I spent weeks researching and trying to decide what kind of printer I should get. I finally settled on this Canon 7000 due to the reasonable price and (hopefully) the ink usage. An Epson 1400 or 1100 was my second choice. I have not used this printer a great deal, but I have printed a few things. Although it does take up quite a bit of room, I'm not disappointed with it. It was easy to install, I have the drivers installed on windows 7 and have had no problems with it. It's ran on a network (ethernet connected to router) and I can print from any computer in my house that has the drivers installed. I only print colored graphics, have not printed any black and white or photos. So I can't vouch for those kinds of uses yet. But for colored graphics, I think the print quality is good, though I have noticed that there's a small range of greens it can print. Or it didn't add enough yellow where it should have. However, I'm convinced that this printer will not eat up as much ink as an Epson would and save me money in the long run, and will give me much less trouble. So far I have almost no complaints about this printer. It hasn't acted strange and has always done exactly what I tell it to. No problems with it grabbing paper or ink bleeding. I think I covered about as much as I can about this, and hope that this review is helpful to all. I know how difficult it can be to decide on and commit to a printer so if you have any questions you can email [@]Please have 'printer' in the subject if you do.
