The front panel features individual level control knobs and LED indicators for power, signal, clipping, protection, and volume level. For the price this amp is great. Don't expect Crown quality or sound here. The amp has good power for a small area setting. It states 500 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms but that is actually 300 watts RMS at 4 ohms. The specs might be off but for the price you cant go wrong. If you are looking to DJ at a large hall this is NOT the amp for you. If you are looking to DJ in a small room or hall this is the RIGHT choice for you especially if you are on a low budget. Hope this helps.

Terrible product! Stay away from Pyle
This amp pumps no where near the watts it claims. My old 250W radio shack amplifier gives four times the power of this thing. Pyle is a joke, I can't understand how they're still...Read complete review

Currently using this amp to power and 8 Ohm, 10" subwoofer for HT. Amp works well, but fans are a bit noisy. Only had it a couple of weeks, so we'll have to see about longevity. A good value for the money.

Comments about Pyle Pro PTA1000 Professional Stereo Power Amplifier (250W/Channel @ 8 Ohms):
I'm using the PTA1000 to drive two old 8ohms 60W Bose speakers; the audio coming from my PC.
I'm currently using the XLR inputs on the back of the amp and it sounds nice. Better than my Audiosource AMP-100.
Because my PC soundcard has a 1/8" TRS output, I bought a wire converter from 1/8" TRS to dual mono 1/4" TS (mono), but didn't get any results. The spec of the PTA1000 says that the 1/4" inputs are TRS, so maybe that's why.
Overall very satisfied. Quite affordable and looks professional.

Bought one in the beginning for Stage monitors , but I was clipping just a little bit
So I decided to buy another one and bridge them both mono. Now I have lots of
(( head room )) , does the job for a fraction others would cost.

I use this amp for home use/dj/mixing it's not 250 watts per channel probably closer to 120 in my opinion but it works fine and for the price i think its still a really good value, no problems with it yet. I also have Crown CE1000 thats 275 per channel and it blows this thing away but it also costs more. Bottom line I would recommend it to someone looking for an economical 100-120 watt amp and I gave it 4 stars for the low price.

[...]The Pile PTA 1000 is intended to power up that 15" Dayton 4 ohm speaker that consumes power past the point of usefulness. Allthough the instalation is incomplete, it powers up smartly and has good monitoring fetures. I like it. If I get any more excuses from those 5 and 3 channel amplifiers ,I will replace them all with banks of Piles. [...] Solidly built, American made and, Pile will stand behind their product. If for whatever reason it does'nt performe, they will be there. It will be fixed or replaced. I have the anth...m preamp and power amps for home use. Let me tell you about it....! Pile has all the cards!

Great sounding powerful amp. I was skeptical but this thing jams. I did have an issue with it as it went to protection before a gig. I thought it was defective because I didn't come out of protection as the gig started. Fortunately I had a backup amp. It finally came out of protection and I've driven it hard since with no issues. Must have been a big short somewhere. Good to know the protection circuitry is so robust, it just took forever to reset.

I use this amp for my home studio and it is more than sufficient. Speakon outputs are great, fans are the slightest bit noisy, but definitely not enough to bother anybody but a high brow engineer.

I was skeptical making this purchase, but I will have to say for the price I'm pleased. Thats why I gave it 5 stars. Decent power output for the buck and clean sound. Its not going to blow you away but good enough. Using for FOH with two 12" in a small venue 75-100 persons. Will buy another for the monitors.

Great Amp. Case is strong and looks good. Amp runs cool with the cooling fans. The sound quality is very good. The rear panel connections are well marked and durable. I am using mine as main amplifier for my home stereo system with 2 15 inch 3 way speakers connected to each channel and the sound is great!!! This is just what I was looking for. I wanted to have ample power to produce clear sound. If you are looking for a value priced amp that performs well this is a great deal.

Comments about Pyle Pro PTA1000 Professional Stereo Power Amplifier (250W/Channel @ 8 Ohms):
Very light, small, compact, and comes with a removable electric cord. I use it to power highs on a 3way active crossover. The only problem I can think of is that the power on LED is a very very bright blue which can be annoying and distorting to look at in a very dark setting, although that can be fixed with a bit of masking tape so it's not a real problem.
