Comments about Koss UR40 Collapsible Stereo Headphones:
I have owned quite a few headphones, and am pretty paticular about them. I have owned all the big brand names (Pioneer, Sony, Panasonic, Senheiser, Philips, JVC, and these are by far the best. I find myself conservative in reviewing items, but these deserve their 5 star rating. They are super comfortable, and fully envelop your ears, yet they do not put pressure on your head to create that headphone fatigue or discomfort we all know about. They are light weight, which is unbelievable if you judge by their size. The sound is superb, very rich with clarity on both highs and lows. You can easily pick up various instruments in a orchestra/band etc.Did I mention they can double as ear-muffs in the unforgiving New York City winters?A couple of draw backs ( well not really, but what good would a review be if you don't mention the "flaws" of the product): The headphone material seems on the low end side and cord a bit thin, but at [$] who am I to complain? Care must be applied if you want them to last for a while. Conclusion: GO GET THEM!!! I will pick up another pair for a family member and am confident they will appreciate them as much as I do.

Comments about Koss UR40 Collapsible Stereo Headphones:
I am an audiophile, and I've owned probably 10 pairs of audiophile and mid grade headphones and these "low end (pricewise)" are the ones I use every day. Comfortable, efficient, clear, good bass (not jacked up), and lightweight. These headphones are worth $200 IMO. I've tried many Sennheiser, JVC, AKG, Sony, and the Koss are an amazing value. These are as good a deal as and a nice upgrade from the UR5 that is common at Radio Shack - also an AMAZING set of phones for $10!! I'm all about spending big money ($2-500) on headphones, but take a leap of faith and try these things out... The ONLY negatives I can mention is that the wires go to each speaker, so inevitably, even with care, they will get sort of twisted, and the cord goes sort of stiff - like its under strain. The other thing is that I was spoiled by the inline volume control of the UR5, but I hear you can add one to solve that.

Comments about Koss UR40 Collapsible Stereo Headphones:
They have a great sound and respond well to EQ and I can use them for hours at a time thanks to the open back design. I have other phones I've paid twice as much for that don't sound like these. I'm just sayin'! I've added the VC20 Volume control and they are the bomb!

Comments about Koss UR40 Collapsible Stereo Headphones:
Awesome sound for a great price. Open Back Phones sound better when just listening to music. I'm listening to Dust in the Wind by Kansas and I'm hearing orchestration that I never knew was there. I can't find anything bad to say...

Comments about Koss UR40 Collapsible Stereo Headphones:
I recently bought four headphones for me and my family to replace the earbuds we have been using to lesson the chance of hearing damage. This Koss set was the cheapest one I bought but it has proven the most popular! they look good and my 16 year-old turned down a more expensive pair to keep these for himself. Hard to beat good looks and great sound for the price.
