Glyph technology makes great hard drives. Though they are wxpensive I can garuntee it is worth the money. I have two glyph 2tb raid drives and the first one I have had for about a year and it is still extremely quiet and never makes any funny sounds. Also the data backup garuntee from glyph is a no brainer, if the hard drive fails they get you your data back, free of charge! Great for anyone who shoots hd video

The USB and Firewire ports worked fine, but I was never able to get my computer to recognize the drive's eSATA port. After hours of troubleshooting, I determined that something must have been wrong with the drive itself. I got really fed up and exchanged it for comparable RAID drive of another brand.
I really wanted to like this drive, as I have a smaller non-RAID Glyph drive that I've used for video editing for a year now that I've been very happy with. Maybe I just got a lemon?

Comments about Glyph Technologies 2TB GT062E Triple Interface Tabletop RAID Hard Drive Array:
Although this drive is good in every other way, the management software will not work in 64 bit system. In my iMac the management software could not detect the drive. I spoke with Galyph support and they told me the software will work only on 32 bit. I find this unacceptable for an expensive hard drive like Galyph. The whole point of paying a lot more for a product is to have everything fully functional and up to date!

This product on a MAC requires OSX 10.5 or it you will have formatting problems. After that it is wonderful. Someone accidently put this MAC formatted device on a pc and screwed up the partition table and Glyph support came to the rescue recovering almost everything. 5 STARS for a great vendor.

Comments about Glyph Technologies 2TB GT062E Triple Interface Tabletop RAID Hard Drive Array:
This is already my second Glyph, as I ordered the 1TB GT050Q a while back, for use with my Mac based Protools setup.
This drive is now full, so I got the 2TB GT062E for backup purposes.
Both drives have been getting a lot of use, are being taken out of the house almost daily, and are on at least a couple of hours a day.
Glyph offers drives with features that (to my knowledge) nobody else does: A great warranty with data recovery, an integrated power supply, and a sturdy carrying case.
In this case it also offers a good amount of space, as well as various RAID options, and two 7200rpm drives, making for a very fast transfer speed, especially when used in RAID 0 mode.
I did not give it 5 stars because unfortunately these drives are fairly noisy due to the fan, and relatively expensive. Also, unlike my other Glyph, it does not have a FW400 connection.

The product itself is great; this is a 'top notch' company as well, and their customer service is excellent. However, I'm subtracting one 'star' due the fact that you have to format this drive for your PC-it's fairly simple to do, and they give you step by step instructions, but it is not really prefaced before your purchase.

I had a LaCie Quadra that constantly disconnected from my HP DV7 running windows 7 64 bit. I finally gave up on it after struggling for a YEAR. This new drive works beautifully (after I reformattd it for windows). It is very quiet and great for editing.

I've heard great things about these drives. I have a PowerMac G5. After spending many hours on the phone with Glyph tech support, and my computer crashing while attempting to partition this drive, I returned it.
I went with a G-Tech on the recommendation of B&H. So far, so good.
Glyph tech support staff is great but they weren't able to solve this one...
