The 2TB GT062E Triple Interface Tabletop RAID from Glyph-Technologies is a high-capacity external RAID that features (2) 7200rpm drives striped together in a hardware RAID 0 or RAID 1 configuration. It can connect to a computer via eSATA, FireWire-800, or USB 2.0. It is compatible with FireWire-400 systems via the use of an optional 9-pin to 6-pin FireWire adapter or cable.

The drive is housed in a durable stainless steel external casing that can be rackmounted with an optional kit. The array features an internal power supply and quiet fan, making it an excellent option for audio studios. It is capable of sustained data transfer speeds of up to 220MB/sec via eSATA, making this an ideal solution for workflows that require superlative drive performance.

Capable of sustained transfer rates of up to 220MB/sec when configured as a RAID 0 and connected via eSATA
Uses the Oxford 936DSE RAID controller, capable of RAID 0, RAID 1, and Spanning modes
Connects via eSATA, FireWire-800, or USB 2.0
When used with Glyph's Highpoint eSATA card, or when connected via a FireWire or USB connection, the drive reports the health of the 2 internal drives using the included Glyph Manager software
Uses high-quality Seagate SATA hard drives, perfect for data intensive applications such as Final Cut Pro, Avid Xpress, and Adobe Premiere
Configure as a RAID 0 for maximum performance, RAID 1 for data protection, JBOD, or Spanning mode for maximum capacity
Glyph Manager software can set RAID mode and display the health status of the unit. You can monitor case temperature, fan speed, drive status and temperature, driver errors, and rebuild failures thanks to S.M.A.R.T. technology. A blinking red front LED, bouncing dock alert in OS X, and error balloon in Windows will let you know if there is a problem with the array
Scratch-resistant black powder-coated aluminum chassis and a 1/8" thick brushed stainless steel face plate ensure that the enclosure effectively dissipates heats, while at the same time being lightweight for portability
Internal power supply is built from high quality components, and is compatible with international voltages
Optional rackmount kit is available, allowing you to convert the unit into a 1U rackmount form factor
Glyph offers 3 years of warranty service, 2 years of basic data recovery service, and 1 year of overnight advanced replacement

Glyph technology makes great hard drives. Though they are wxpensive I can garuntee it is worth the money. I have two glyph 2tb raid drives and the first one I have had for about a year and it is still extremely quiet and never makes any funny sounds. Also the data backup garuntee from glyph is a no brainer, if the hard drive fails they get you your data back, free of charge! Great for anyone who shoots hd video

The USB and Firewire ports worked fine, but I was never able to get my computer to recognize the drive's eSATA port. After hours of troubleshooting, I determined that something must have been wrong with the drive itself. I got really fed up and exchanged it for comparable RAID drive of another brand.

I really wanted to like this drive, as I have a smaller non-RAID Glyph drive that I've used for video editing for a year now that I've been very happy with. Maybe I just got a lemon?

Comments about Glyph Technologies 2TB GT062E Triple Interface Tabletop RAID Hard Drive Array:

Although this drive is good in every other way, the management software will not work in 64 bit system. In my iMac the management software could not detect the drive. I spoke with Galyph support and they told me the software will work only on 32 bit. I find this unacceptable for an expensive hard drive like Galyph. The whole point of paying a lot more for a product is to have everything fully functional and up to date!

This product on a MAC requires OSX 10.5 or it you will have formatting problems. After that it is wonderful. Someone accidently put this MAC formatted device on a pc and screwed up the partition table and Glyph support came to the rescue recovering almost everything. 5 STARS for a great vendor.

Comments about Glyph Technologies 2TB GT062E Triple Interface Tabletop RAID Hard Drive Array:

This is already my second Glyph, as I ordered the 1TB GT050Q a while back, for use with my Mac based Protools setup.
This drive is now full, so I got the 2TB GT062E for backup purposes.
Both drives have been getting a lot of use, are being taken out of the house almost daily, and are on at least a couple of hours a day.

Glyph offers drives with features that (to my knowledge) nobody else does: A great warranty with data recovery, an integrated power supply, and a sturdy carrying case.
In this case it also offers a good amount of space, as well as various RAID options, and two 7200rpm drives, making for a very fast transfer speed, especially when used in RAID 0 mode.

I did not give it 5 stars because unfortunately these drives are fairly noisy due to the fan, and relatively expensive. Also, unlike my other Glyph, it does not have a FW400 connection.

The product itself is great; this is a 'top notch' company as well, and their customer service is excellent. However, I'm subtracting one 'star' due the fact that you have to format this drive for your PC-it's fairly simple to do, and they give you step by step instructions, but it is not really prefaced before your purchase.

I've heard great things about these drives. I have a PowerMac G5. After spending many hours on the phone with Glyph tech support, and my computer crashing while attempting to partition this drive, I returned it.

I went with a G-Tech on the recommendation of B&H. So far, so good.

Glyph tech support staff is great but they weren't able to solve this one...
