Comments about Toshiba mini NB205-N210 Netbook Computer (Black Onyx):
Purchased this notebook mainly for travel to watch movies, download pictures, check the internet and skype. Did extensive review of notebook and it seemed to be one of the better ones and, in use, it has proved to be. I like the small size and the larger keyboard. I have loaded photoshop and several movies. The movies wouldn't play in windows media player for some reason so downloaded Zune and it was jerky. Downloaded another player and they play great with nice smooth video. The audio is very weak but plenty loud enough on headphones. Has one powered USB plug which comes in handy for other add-ons. Got the XP edition as I didn't want all the other junk Windows 7 has on it.

Comments about Toshiba mini NB205-N210 Netbook Computer (Black Onyx):
A very "typeable" keyboard and a long battery life are the best things about this machine. The key pitch is larger than most small laptops, almost the same as a full size keyboard. The non-typing keys are tiny, but what do you want? The display is more than satisfactory for a machine costing [$], and no complaints about the performance. The battery lasts a good six hours, at least now, when it's new. The only negatives I've found are the slightly goosey keypad buttons, which sometimes respond when you just graze them, and the annoying Norton bundled software, which forces you to look at their pop-up add and risk accidentally activating the free trial software every time you boot. The only way to get rid of it is to uninstall Norton (as you should). The monster battery that gives it the long life makes it a little heavy for a netbook, so if weight is everything with you, consider that.

Comments about Toshiba mini NB205-N210 Netbook Computer (Black Onyx):
I am using this computer in the field with Astrophotography equipment. I use it to autoguide the mount as well as acquire the images. I wanted something small and portable but with good battery life. I do not do image processing with it. That is left for the desktop. The NB205-210 fits the bill very nicely. I spent many hours looking at reviews of other netbooks. This battery outlasts all others. I've gotten 8 hours out of it without turning off the wi-fi or dimming the screen! There is a fancier version of the NB205 which has a chicklet keyboard. I demo'ed it at a local [...]store and despite what some have said, I prefer the keyboard on the NB205-210. It's also less expensive. I did buy the 2 gig. memory upgrade. The only downside I had with this (and it was minor) was that I had to fool with the touchpad settings. I turned off browser support because sometimes when I moved my finger it would unintentionaly backpage on me. Other than that it's perfect.

Comments about Toshiba mini NB205-N210 Netbook Computer (Black Onyx):
When working, as it did for several days, it connected to Wi-Fi readily and performed satisfactorily. Nice long battery life and decent keyboard. Unit developed hardware issues and has been sent back to Toshiba for repairs/replacement. I had to pay cost of shipping unit to tech support, which didn't seem to be the way the warranty was worded.

Comments about Toshiba mini NB205-N210 Netbook Computer (Black Onyx):
I purchased this laptop strictly for lightening my load while traveling, but retaining the ability to view and backup my photos. I do alot of adventure travel and limit myself to a backpack that I can carry-on. This usually causes me to leave out any laptops. This netbook definitely will be able to be included in my packing list.
The performance of this machine is definitely not up to a normal pc or laptop, but you got to figure there is a bit of a trade-off for the size. Playing a mp4 movie(locally) can get choppy sometimes, but for the most part it is ok. Volume was a little bit low for hearing on a plane(was in last row and did not have NR phones). Playing movie/video off the network was also choppy but alot of this was due to low bandwidth.
Battery power is incredible. Haven't measured it myself but I think it is close to their specs(~9 hrs of avg use).
Keyboard is pretty close to normal laptop. Takes a little getting used to though.
Mousepad is the best I have found for netbooks. I tried other netbooks in the stores and they had alot of dead spots that didn't take advantage of the entire space.
The 10 inch size definitely takes some getting used to, but here again is another trade-off.
If you are looking for a spare pc for travel that does not take up alot of room, then this is for you. One other thing, if I didn't have to download pictures from my camera and view them, my iPhone would have fulfilled everything this netbook did. So if you don't need to backup photos from your camera or other USB devices, then an iPhone/SmartPhone is sufficient.
