Pelican O450 Mobile Tool Chest with Drawers
The Pelican O450 Mobile Tool Chest with Drawers (Black) includes 6 removable shallow drawers, removable deep drawer and a top tray. It will accept a variety of other optional removable tool drawers, horizontal and vertical tool pallets will accept a variety of optional removable tool drawers, horizontal and vertical tool pallets and a top tray. The case has narrow slides to hold the optional drawers. The case is constructed from Ultra-high impact structural copolymer that is crushproof, and dust proof. It has 2 built-in automatic pressure equalization valves; one for the top lid and a second for the main compartment. There are hybrid double throw latches with a mesh butterfly compression latch and stainless steel hinge pins that provide extra protection from impact. It has raised ribs that are designed to stop the lid at 180° when opened to serve as a workspace supporting up to 50 lbs. The chest has graduated deflector ribs that protect the hinges and latches from shipping damage by diverting the energy away from the case. They are rounded off to make placing the case on its back easier when transporting.
Opening the Pelican 0450 Mobile Tool Chest after altitude changes is made easier by balancing the interior pressure with the ambient pressure. It has an extra removable storage space beneath the top lid. There are 3 unsealed pockets on the left side to store smaller items. The tool chest can be stacked. It is carried by an extra deep haul handle on each end can be lifted in 2 positions with the tool chest open and when being wheeled. It has a retractable tow handle and extra wide 2.0" polyurethane wheels that are located on the back of the tool chest that can handle loads over soft terrain. It leaves the front of the case clear of wheel obstructions creating more usable drawer space.

I'm a huge fan of Pelican cases. I own over 20 cases. I do have only one complaint, I don't like that you have to put it on it's back to roll it. Unless you use the tray inserts or shadow box your tools, it can cause a mess.

I am an aircraft mechanic and use my tool box to carry all the essentials tools of my trade. I love the rugged design and the ability to roll it around to all the different work sites with minimum effort. The size is perfect, not to big, not too little. The only down side I can see to this box is that in order to tow around you have to first close it up and they roll the box over to where the wheels are located. which basically puts the drawers and top tray on the side.
