Comments about Acratech Nodal Rail with Level Quick-Release Clamp:
Used it few times since purchased. It took a bit time to get the correct nodal point for each focal length, but now you get more confident that everything lines up and it won't mess up with the stitching. Great precision product. Light weight for hiking. A bit pricy but I guess it is not a product with mass production that can keep the price down.

Comments about Acratech Nodal Rail with Level Quick-Release Clamp:
I bought this Rail to make panaramic photos for real estate photography. It has taken the guesswork from and, thereby, greatly improved the accuracy of my near field photo's. This is a solid, precise piece of kit of very high quality. It's principle benefit for me is to allow the camera to be set back fron the pivot point on the tripod. I calculate the setback required by eyeballing two vertical lines - one near and one far and setting the camera back until the relative position of the lines doesn't cahnge as the camera swivels. Not terribly scientific but it seems to work just fine for my work.

Comments about Acratech Nodal Rail with Level Quick-Release Clamp:
I use this mainly for shooting panoramic landscapes for perfect stitching.
The clamp is very good. I like the fact that you can rotate the clamp 90° with ease.
I like that it has 2 quick indicator stops so you can just set your favorite focal length nodal point and easily get back to it.

Comments about Acratech Nodal Rail with Level Quick-Release Clamp:
Very well made product, though a little expensive. I paired it up with a Cullman ballhead and it provides a very robust and stable panorama setup for a reasonable amount of money.

Comments about Acratech Nodal Rail with Level Quick-Release Clamp:
The rail with its stops makes it very easy to repeat positioning the camera lens so that its entrance pupil (node) is collinear with the tripod/head axis of rotation. There are two rubberized stops provided. I just keep one as a spare and reposition the other stop at the ruled markings I have determined appropriate for each prime lens I use.
Comments about Acratech Nodal Rail with Level Quick-Release Clamp:
I bought the nodal rail for panorama's. It works great. But I use it more to mount my 5D MII and 1D MIV on a Wimberly head. With this nodal rail you can mount the body directly to the Wimberly head.
