Comments about Matrox MXO2 LE (Desktop):
As Matrox has been known to do, they release products before they are ready. I bought this unit based on my experience with the Axio card. I'm using it with Premiere 5.5. When running a Matrox project, it tends to be slugish, buggy and you have to use legacy drivers for your graphic card or else you really run into problems. You really notice the difference when you switch to a Premiere project. It's fast, responsive and isn't tempermental. Unfortunately you can't see the video on your monitor. I would wait at least another six months and see if they manage to get it right.

For the money, its the best i/o on the market right now. Its compact and portable too, so I can take it on location when I need. The only fault is you may experience some latency when with the digital signal. Be sure to monitor your a/v through the same path. I had to throw out my old audio interface and buy a Mackie to monitor everything in sync. Matrox cant help there as of yet; however, they say they may release an update that includes a video/audio sync feature. Which would certainly make it a worthy purchase for freelance editors. Tech support is not too bad either. Buy Matrox when on a budget!!
