The OMNIVS1500XL Omni VS UPS System from Tripp Lite is a UPS system, designed to protect sensitive electronics from power surges while providing battery backup during power outages. It features 8 outlets to connect devices, 6 of which provide battery backup. It is designed for use on standard 120V electrical systems.
An audible alarm and front-panel LEDs make you aware of status information regarding line and battery power operation. An integrated dataline port can provide surge protection to a device that uses an RJ-45 or RJ-11 plug for data. The internal battery is able to power a typical entry-level PC for up to 75 minutes during a power outage.

Comments about Tripp Lite OMNIVS1500XL Omni VS UPS System:
This is my second OMNIVS1500XL. My last one must have taken a surge, because the back-up batteries still had a charge but the plugs were dead. I have several TrippLite products, but they all have the same problem. They do not have a surge indicator light to let you know they may not protect your equipment. This one lasted over 5 years with no damage to the connected products so I am happy.

Comments about Tripp Lite OMNIVS1500XL Omni VS UPS System:
This was convenient to set up and seems to be working well, but the software that is supposed to help with orderly shut down in the event of a power outage doesn't work for Mac operating systems. The company says that a Mac version is in the works, but won't say when.
