Acratech 2173 Camera Plate
This Acratech 2173 Camera Plate is a very lightweight (app. 1 oz), dedicated QR plate for the Panasonic DMC-G1/GH1 camera. The plate is compatible with all Arca-Swiss-type clamps and features maximum weight reduction combined with great strength. A camera-specific lip prevents rotation on the camera body and the plate is notched to allow easy access to all camera controls and features. A long screw slot increases the chances of compatibility with future cameras.

- Camera specific plate, so it fits your camera and will prevent your camera from rotating or moving on the plate

- Plate provides maximum contact area to the bottom of the camera, increasing stability and helping to minimize flexing of the camera body
- Plates are precision C.N.C. machined from solid 6061 T-6 aluminum
- All unnecessary threaded bosses etc. have been eliminated to further reduce weight

I use this clamp on the Panasonic GH2, and it really is a perfect fit. I first bought a generic plate, but the GH2's tripod mount is not flush with the surface of the camera, meaning that with a flat plate the mount actually physically flexes when the camera is attached to a pro-level ball head (where you dial in a constant friction level to keep the head in place rather than loosening the head and clamping it down to make adjustments).
So then I got this Acratech 2173, and it's absolutely perfect on top of my Markins Q10 head. No sign that it wants to move. My original generic plate is now attached to my Olympus OM-1, and all is right with the world.
I do wish there was a fitted plate for my camera that had a loop for a hand strap, but I'll manage without it.

RRS plate was out of stock at their site, so I went to B&H in search for alternative. Found this one. It fits Panasonic GH2 perfectly well and works with rss tripod heads just fine. It is also cheaper than rss plate.
