Comments about Sunpak PZ42X TTL Shoe Mount Flash (Guide No. 138'/42 m at 35mm) for Sony:
As an amateur SLR owner I can say PZ42X TTL Shoe Mount Flash worked as I was expecting. I didn't want to buy the Sony one which is significantly higher in price. It fit my Sony A 500 very well and it does what is meant to do, help on lighting specially in dark situation such as night and indoors. The flash swivels very well giving you the option to bounce light which is a plus.
Here is how it can be improved:
It's a little heavy, when mounted on the camera you hands will get tiered. Works wonders on a tripod though.
Recovery is slow. If you are doing multiple shots at once, don't count on it. It will only flash for the 1st one.
It overheats. The instructions clearly say not to leave it on for more than 10 minutes because it can over heat. I obey and shut it off, therefore can't really say it has overheated on me.
Overall I will recommend this flash to a friend who is starting and want to improve its night/dark photography. Eventually I'll invest on a higher quality flash.

I use this flash with my Sony A700 and wow is it a great flash. I'm very pleased at how the flash works seamlessly with the camera. It is also very quite and it recycles very quickly. It gets a little heavy after awhile but what flash wouldn't. It is great for the price. [...]

Over all, a good product. A little slow recovery time when shooting quick movement shots.
