The Aurora 16 from Lynx Studio Technology is a sixteen channel, mastering-quality AD/DA converter in a single-space rack-mount housing. This model includes a factory installed LT-HD card, which enables the Aurora 16 to directly connect to a Digidesign Pro Tools HD system, using standard Digidesign cabling.
Almost everything you do in computer-based recording requires digital information to be converted into analog audio, and for analog signals to be converted into digital information. Everything you record and playback from the computer through your studio monitors and headphones is strongly influenced by the quality of your converters. Lynx has built a reputation over the years for providing some of the best sounding converters in the industry. Using the Aurora 16 will make everything you record and playback sound better. It's as simple as that.
The front panel of the Aurora 16 is ergonomically designed to provide easy access to important controls and signal status. It features an on-board 32-channel digital mixer that provides extensive routing and mixing options. This system is capable of zero latency monitoring, and Lynx's proprietary SynchroLock jitter technology provides extreme jitter reduction and an extremely clean clock output. All analog and digital connections use DB25 connectors with industry standard pin-outs.
. The installed LT-HD card includes one primary and one expansion DigiLink port. It emulates the functioning of a Digidesign 192 I/O, making integration simple and allowing for accurate delay compensation within ProTools software. - Supports full channel count at sample rates up to 192 kHz
- Offers audio signal latency identical to that of the Digidesign 192 I/O for accurate delay compensation within Pro Tools - no manual delay adjustments required
- Allows I/O functions and Aurora parameters to be controlled and monitored within Pro Tools
- Interfaces with an HD system using standard DigiLink cables
- Allows daisy-chaining of multiple Aurora converters and other DigiLink devices via Expansion port
- Lynx proprietary SynchroLock technology can be used to reduce jitter when Aurora is a clock slave or to provide stable, low jitter clock to downstream devices
