Can't really tell if having the UV filter improves quality of the pictures, though.

Came with a smudge on it!
Feels like a quality product, but is hard to clean and seems to scratch very easy! It does it's job, though: protect the lense and reduce blue haze.

Comments about Hoya 55mm Ultraviolet UV(0) Haze Filter:
Not too fancy, just a good, solid UV/protection filter. I haven't noticed any differences in the photos when using this filter, but that's not why I use it. I put one of these on every lens I own, as soon as I get it out of the box, that way I don't ever have to clean the lens itself, and it stays in pristine condition. Bottom line, you can't go wrong with Hoya's HMC line of filters.

I bought this for my tamron 90mm. I thought it was made in japan since I saw the pro1 version that was made in japan, but no, I was surprised that it's made in the philippines by tokina corp. (so still came from japan) and it does looked like pro made filter. It works great for my macro lens and I would love to buy one like this again in the future.

I bought it for my Panasonic DMC-FZ50 (new 2006). I didn't know I could screw on other lenses, so I should have purchased this UV lens a few years ago---if only to protect the Leica lens on this camera.

Bought this to basically protect the glass on a lens that I recently purchased. Seems to be a solid filter, nice and clear and serves the whole UV process thing well.
