Comments about DVDO iScan Duo High-Definition Video Processor:
I bought this processor as a means to completely color manage my television (and possibly future projector) ever since anchor bay released full CMS firmware. However as I have yet to save the cash for a good meter/software I can only comment on the other functions right now. - The auto switching of video devices is great. I have mine set up so that cable tv takes top priority (if any other devices are running and i switch to tv it switches immediately to that). Scaling is great. It isn't the best scaler on the market and many (including my own marantz nr1601) have built in scalers that are just fine. - I like the detail/edge enhancement it cleans up old cruddy standard definition stuff like vhs and the wii. - Every one of my video sources is input to my iscan duo then I output the video to my tv and just one hdmi cable goes to my marantz. It seems to output all lossless, lossy, 5.1,6.1,7.1 etc formats perfectly to my marantz.- In order to enable 24p input to pass to my tv i had to set "1:1 frame rate in the menu. A few nitpicks:- My old vhs player via composite video blacks in and out of the picture when I pause it (must be an analogue problem). Also detailed by someone else on the avsforums.- Auto input switching is turned off when you want switch to a device while your top priority devices are running. (ie. in my case if i turn on my ps3 while my cable box is running then click input 3 to manually switch to my ps3 then when i turn off the ps3 it won't automatically switch back to "auto input" or the top priority input). I have to press auto on the remote. - For controlling the unit for calibration via the serial port the iscan duo only comes with a serial to serial cable (and usb cable for firmware updates). Seriously who has serial ports on their computers anymore. I ordered a usb to serial cable for 7 bucks. - The remote (or software) is a little slow/sticky/not as responsive as i'd like- Haven't made any changes yet but there seems to be no way to backup/save CMS changes. Quite annoying for those who upgrade their firmware.Overall a great unit that anchor bay seems committed to updating firmware very often (after you get your unit check online there's been a lot of changes). It's very easy to upgrade the firmware too. Buy it for the CMS though, scaling is fine but these days most devices have good scalers.

Instantly pushes any projector to it's limits. I can add the Iscan DUO to any display and know that I am getting the best picture possible my display is capable of.

Comments about DVDO iScan Duo High-Definition Video Processor:
Amazing product for the money. 8 HDMI inputs and 3 HDMI outputs (1 audio only).Works great and looks a lot like the v50pro.I've owned the DVDO Edge for the last 1-1/2 Yrs. so the learning curve here was tiny. A lot of the features and menu system are similar. Most things function the same but with the added capabilities of CMS and 2 HDMI video outputs. This feature I really like as I have a 55" LCD and a 1080P projector hooked up in the same room. The only downside is that you can only watch one at a time. Again, who cares? Not me.The CMS is very powerful and very easy to use. I'm using it with Eye One Display 2 and CalMan Software.Anchor Bay has been VERY good with timely firmware updates and it looks to be the case here, as well. Installing it is as easy as copy and paste with a PC.I loved the functionality of the Edge so I'm even more thrilled with this unit. I don't see anything around that compares with this anywhere near its price.A remarkable component at an incredible price. I buy a lot of electronics and this one is at the very top of my "Best Buy" list.
