Comments about JVC SR-HD1500US Blu-ray Disc & HDD Recorder:
The sr-hd1500su does a great job of producing stunning hd dvs. Transferring video to the unit's hard drive from a Sony hdr-fx1000 is simple using the firewire connection;turning out great Blu-ray discs is a snap from there. I am pleased with the ease of operation and the quality of the finished product. The unit is also a splendid Blu-ray player, but will not copy commercial dvds. In short, it does everything I expected by producing high quality high definition dvds. Anyone who makes high-def video (on minidv tape in my case) and wants to view, store and share the results on Blu-ray discs, this item provides a simple, straight forward way to do so. It does rudimentary editing only, but it isn't advertised to do more than that.
