The Cybook Opus eBook Reader from Bookeen is a 5 inch, pocket-friendly eBook with 1GB of built-in memory and a microSD expansion slot. The Opus display reads like paper, with a gentle on the eyes black and white screen that utilizes the Electronic Ink Display. This display allows for reading under a number of different lighting conditions, including direct sunlight.

Aside from reading like a traditional book, the Cybook Opus is also energy efficient. The Electronic Ink Display module only needs energy to change the display content. Once an image is written to the page it will remain without consuming any additional power.

Thinner than a traditional paper back, the Opus is easily carried in a bag or purse, or even a large pocket. And this eBook has an uncomplicated interface that allows you to perform different actions quickly. The Reader also features a fast start-up time that brings you directly back to the last page you read. Other features of the Opus include font size adjustment, easy content management, and multi-format support.

• ePaper: Opus shows a paper-like black and white screen, utilizing the Electronic Ink Display. The screen acts like a paper page made of tiny ink particles which can migrate and modify the layout of your screen in less than a second
The Opus screen is viewable under a wide range of lighting conditions, including direct sunlight, and possesses a paper-like high contrast appearance. Like a sheet of paper, it can be viewed from nearly any angle, doesn't show any flicker effect and has a high resolution. When you read it definitely gives you the experience of reading from paper

• Ultra-Low Power Consumption: An Electronic Ink Display achieves ultra-low power consumption in a thin, light form. These display modules only need energy to change the display content. Once the image is written, it will remain indefinitely without consuming any additional power. The E Ink display technology is thus energy efficient and drastically reduces power consumption

• Optimized Form Factor: The Opus dimensions are very close to the ones of a paperback. As a paperback, the Opus can be easily arranged in a hand bag or a purse. The Opus is even much thinner (-70%) than a standard paperback and is thus easily transportable

• Battery Life: The ePaper screen technology requires no power to maintain an image; as long as the Opus displays the same image, there is no power consumption. This technology drastically reduces power needs. Thus, the Opus offers an impressive battery lifetime of 8,000 screen refreshes with a full charged battery

• Intuitive and Fast Interface

The Opus interface allows you to achieve many different actions in a second using very few buttons:

Add a bookmark, go to a page
Turn a page forward and backward
Open a book, display your book list
Lookup word definition, jump to hyperlinks

• Fast Switch On: If you're in the subway or in the car you have a short timeframe to read a few pages of your favorite book. The Opus is up and running in 20 seconds, bringing you back directly to the last page you read

• Font Size Adjustment: Choose the font size which fits your needs. Press one button and your book will be automatically repaginated with a new font

• Easy Content Management: Connect the Opus with the USB cable to any host computer and drag and drop your files. That's it, your new content is in the Opus, ready to be displayed
No software installation, no synchronization process, no file conversion and most of all the Opus is compatible with any kind of host computer (Windows, Linux, Mac). You can also copy your data in a Micro SD card and plug it in the Opus Micro SD slot, the stored content will automatically appear

• Multi-Format Support: Different kinds of documents can be found on the Internet or can be generated by text editors. You can find classical books in HTML or TXT, download a user's manual in PDF, etc. Bookeen philosophy is to support natively (i.e. directly with no conversion) all these document formats

• eBooks Protected by Adobe DRM: The Cybook Opus supports EPUB and PDF files protected by Adobe encryption system. This protection allows the Cybook customer to access more than 200,000 contemporary copyrighted titles.
