It may have come late to the party, but Toshiba is making up for it with a Blu-ray player that's as feature-rich and elegant-looking as anything in its high-definition product lineup.
The BDX2000 Blu-ray Disc Player supports BD-Live for interactive content and BonusView picture-in-picture capability, provides full HD 1080p digital output, and offers the Regza-Link function for single-remote operation with a compatible Toshiba LCD TV. The stylish player sports a faceted, smoked-mirror front panel that creates a clean, smooth look and drops down to reveal basic controls.
The progressive-scan Blu-ray player offers 24 fps video output to create a lifelike cinema experience, and enables DVD upscaling via HDMI to play standard DVDs in near-HD quality.
For owners of high-def camcorders, the BDX200 is capable of AVCHD playback of home movies. In addition, the unit offers JPEG playback of digital photos.
On the audio side, the Toshiba player supports enhanced formats including Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD, DTS, and DTS-HD Master Audio for spectacular sound. What's more, the unit provides digital audio playback of MP3 and WMA files.
To ensure that the BDX2000 can be integrated easily into your existing home theater setup, there's a full complement of connections, including HDMI, component, composite, S-Video, optical and coaxial digital, and analog audio outputs. The Blu-ray player also includes an SD card slot with SDHC support, and an Ethernet port.
For stunning video and pure surround-sound audio, the Toshiba BDX200 Blue-ray Disc Player is a muscular and attractive component that was definitely worth the wait.

Comments about Toshiba BDX2000 Blu-ray Disc Player:
Great blu-ray and DVD picture. Almost can't tell pictures apart. Audio excellent 95% of time. Not so great: Seems like long load time. When using surround sound system If you pause movie, then hit play, sound very distorted and metallic sounding. Only way to correct is to fast forward for a second and then re-hit play. Thought it was defective so replaced unit with another one, 2nd one did same exact thing.

Comments about Toshiba BDX2000 Blu-ray Disc Player:
This Product has everything I need. It loads DVDs fast, and works well with them with great picture quality. I have only watched DVDs through component cables, not HDMI, and I have not actually watched a Blu-Ray disc yet, so I cannot say how great it looks with those. Also I have only watched DVDs through a projector, so I don't know how it would look with an LCD/Plasma TV. I don't know that I'm crazy about the front flap/cover that I have to pull down every time I want to load/unload a disc, but I didn't think that was enough of a bother to lower the stars. Some may like the flap, it gives the device a somewhat streamlined look as opposed to having to see the door and play, pause, stop, and eject buttons (which you have to open the flap to see and access). The remote has about everything I could imagine that someone would ever want or need. So far, I am very pleased with my purchase. For the price, I would say it is well worth it.
