The Giottos MTC 281 Short Center Column is designed for the MT 92 and MT 82 tripods. It replaces the existing column on these tripods. This extra short column allows the user to take full advantage of the variable leg spread on these units, so that you are not inhibited by the length of the column as to how low to the ground you can go.

Comments about Giottos MTC 281 Short Center Column for MT 92 & MT 82 Tripods:
Although billed as only fitting the MT 82 & 92 series it also fits the VGR 9265 VITRUVIAN Tripod, this column resolves the only issue I had with the VITRUVIAN its low level performance. If you need to get low down with your VGR 9265 this column is a great addition for a low price

Comments about Giottos MTC 281 Short Center Column for MT 92 & MT 82 Tripods:
This piece is even better quality than the original column that came with my tripod. It's great for a replacement or additional gear. I can now take advantage of the low to the ground angles my tripod legs were designed for.

Comments about Giottos MTC 281 Short Center Column for MT 92 & MT 82 Tripods:
Great buy. With the short column it Lets me open my tripod legs and get down on the ground and not have the column dig into the dirt or be up 12" plus.

Comments about Giottos MTC 281 Short Center Column for MT 92 & MT 82 Tripods:
I use this short column with my Giottos MT9271B Tripod. By replacing the regular column with this short one, I can get my camera much closer to the ground for nice foreground work in my landscapes. I think tripods should come with short columns or maybe no columns at all.

Short, stout, well built, have no issues with leave a mega dollar lens attached to it and turning my back.

Comments about Giottos MTC 281 Short Center Column for MT 92 & MT 82 Tripods:
I have an older Giottos MT 8270 tripod. While I never worried about my ballhead and most lenses & camera combos, I did worry about the weight with my Wimberly head and a large lens, considering the spring loaded 3/8 bolt around the 1/4 bolt was not solid. This center column features the new reversable, solid 3/8 on one end, 1/4 on the other solid threaded mount. It updated my tripod for under 30 bucks and now I have no fear about taking my eyes off the big lens. Well worth the money.
Comments about Giottos MTC 281 Short Center Column for MT 92 & MT 82 Tripods:
I ordered this for my MT9241 and it did not fit. That tripod apparently uses a smaller center column that B&H does not carry. The description for this center column should be updated because that is not clear.
