The CM3530 has print and copy speeds of up to 31 pages-per-minute to keep workflow going at a steady pace, and it delivers prints at 1200 x 600dpi.
One of the nice features of this multifunction device is its JetDirect Embedded Print Server, which enables users to share the device with others in a small to medium sized office. It comes with a 50-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF), to make bulk copies, plus a 100-sheet multipurpose tray and a 250-sheet input tray (an optional 500-sheet media tray is also available). Additionally, users can cut paper consumption by 25% with automatic two-sided printing and copying. This unit saves energy with HP's Instant-on Technology, which produces the first page from low-power mode and time to completion can be up to 40% faster than a typical office print job.
The LaserJet CM3530 has front-panel controls with an HP's intuitive Easy Select Color Touchscreen. It has two internal USB 2.0 slots, and one external USB slot for fonts and third party solutions. The CM3530's design is in line with other stylish HP LaserJet products, mostly gray with some navy blue paneling, which can fit into a variety of decors.

- The LaserJet CM3530 is relatively easy to set up and it comes with two setup CDs. One for administrators or whomever is setting up the CM3530 on the network and one for users with an online manual. You can also download drivers on HP's website
- HP JetDirect Print Server
- The CM3530 can be set up via USB or over a network. Users can access the network through the HP JetDirect Embedded Print Server. The server is accessed through a browser so it has real time information of device status including ink levels, print status and/or error messages (jams, paper refills). Users and administrators can also use the JetDirect Embedded Print Server to setup shared folders, e-mail settings, network settings, security settings, and color management. It can be set on a sleep schedule using the print server or the touchscreen display. Same for adding security pins for locking documents or images saved on the printer or shared network folder
