Comments about Toshiba mini NB205-N330/WH 10.1" Netbook Computer (Frost White):
I wanted to wait a month or so before I reviewed the Toshiba netbook so we would have some experience with it. I love this little machine! I originally went looking for an inexpensive laptop to give my daughter as a gift. When I started looking at netbooks, the laptops all started look unwieldy and I decided to get her a netbook instead. I chose this netbook because it seemed better made, less like a toy, than the others I looked at and it has proved to be a great little computer. My daughter uses it daily for the internet and sometimes to type up homework for school. (It comes with a 2-month trial Windows 7 that you can download if you decide to buy it. She also downloads movies. Whenever I'm waiting for her somewhere, I take the netbook to a branch of a public library to use their wifi to do work-related research on the internet. We both prefer typing long pieces on a regular keyboard but I have typed up several short articles on the netbook and have no problem with the keyboard. If anything, I have trouble with having several pages open and switching back and forth on such a small screen, but that would be true of any netbook. This model's frost white cover doesn't get the fingerprints everyone complains about because it's a textured matte finish, not smooth. The battery lasts all day. I think I'm going to upgrade the speed now that I see what a great little machine this is. Lastly, we're mac people so I was a little nervous about buying anything that uses Windows but this was almost as easy to figure out as a mac. It was pretty much open the box and start working.

Comments about Toshiba mini NB205-N330/WH 10.1" Netbook Computer (Frost White):
"Branquinho", the kindly nick-named of NB205 is primarily used on the go, at internet access, to check email, surfing and blogging. It's perfect for me because It is what I want. As a second surfing device, I have no claim about it. I really recomend to everybody who has this kind of use.

Comments about Toshiba mini NB205-N330/WH 10.1" Netbook Computer (Frost White):
This Netbook will be mainly used for Internet browsing and some work using Microsoft Office. Its one beautiful Netbook. The keyboard feels slightly cramped, but I can get used to that. Speakers are tiny, and the sound is weak.

Comments about Toshiba mini NB205-N330/WH 10.1" Netbook Computer (Frost White):
The hardware specifications are standard, except for the 320GB hard disk (Windows XP netbooks are limited to 250GB IIRC). The finish, on the other hand, is fantastic. The lid, in example, is stylish and yet it doesn't get thumbprints like the piano black and similar lids.
The keyboard is as good as a netbook keyboard can be. The backslash and back tick keys have been displaced, which shouldn't be an issue for most people in English-speaking countries. The Tab key is too short, and the Enter/return button has only its lower row, so it's shaped as an hyphen, not like a J.
AFAIK there's no way to return Windows or any pre-installed software; if you try to do that you'll be explicitly be violating Toshiba's license terms. I guess it's bad news for GNU/Linux users. Anyway, people in the support forums say that the WiFi must be turned on in Windows before it becomes visible to GNU/Linux, so there's no way to completely avoid booting Windows at least once.
The netbook comes with some paper and the battery charger, but no recovery media. There is a hidden partition, and a bundled Toshiba utility to create a recovery disk. The tool is smart enough to volunteer to write to USB sticks (remember that there's no internal optical drive).
The default settings on Windows are bad for a short screen like this, but after some fixes (lateral and/or auto-hiding task bar, removing toolbars from web browser etc) it gets better.
