International orders*The Lowel Blender AC/DC Kit (120VAC/12VDC) throws an entirely new light on the problems of shooting in mixed-light environments: when neither tungsten nor daylight are the right color, you just fudge it, right? Not anymore--the Blender makes it possible to fine-tune your lights to match (or contrast with) whatever light you're grappling with. With twin arrays of daylight and tungsten LEDs in one fixture, two simple dials make it possible to dial in the light to exactly the color you choose (from approximately 2800°K to 6000°K). This tiny unit (1.2 lbs and small enough to hold with a pistol grip) puts out a solid 56W of light, and it's dimmable from 100% to 10%. It runs off a Panasonic camcorder battery sled (battery not included), or the included 120V AC adapter. Also included are a handle and stud, a set of three different diffusers and a Lowel Blender Single Carry Bag for transporting the kit.

Comments about Lowel Blender AC/DC Kit (120VAC/12VDC):
This is a really good concept light - you can mix between tungsten-like and white LED's to get warmer Kelvin lighting. I liked it because it was taking the nice aspects about LED lighting (low voltage, cool to the touch) while delivering the warmth that is absent from most LED lights.
Indeed, the light is bright, it has nice options, like an assortment of diffusion filters and it does deliver warmer K in an LED package.
The problem is this light doesn't mount on a hot shoe and it doesn't include an adapter to enable it to mount on a camera and if you can get the parts to mount it on your own, you have to deal with a cumbersome battery pack that straps onto the base somehow. This is really not desirable if you're going to Steadicam with this arrangement.
I think Lowel could have had a great product here if they thought it through. The lameness was exacerbated by including a hand-held handle with a stud that you can mount the light to. Now what shooter is going to be carrying around a light like that? Sure, you can mount this light on a stand, no problem, but who wants to do that with a small LED panel? You want it to be camera mounted. But this product doesn't do it. Lowel needs to go back to the drawing board. They need a stable battery mount and a hot shoe mount so the camera can balance properly on a motion stabilzation system.
This is such a disappointment for an otherwise great product that I have to give this only one star.
You're better off with an IKAN Multi-K camera mounted light. It's less expensive, maybe not as powerful as the Lowel, but more practical.
