Comments about HP / Hewlett-Packard G60-530US Notebook Computer:
As an engineer transitioning into teaching Math and Physics and simulateously working on my Masters, this notebook has all of the features I need and almost every feature I want. Lightweight, the screen is very bright and large enough to work on several things at once and so far, the processor has handled whatever I've thrown at it with lightning speed. The nine-key numeric keyboard on the right was a treat--didn't have it on my last notebook and had forgotten how much I used it. Having a bit of trouble getting my hp printer to sync up, but that has more to do with Windows 7 than the computer itself. Comes with Microsoft Works--I went ahead and got the student edition of Windows Home 7 and am getting used to it. I skipped Vista and kept XP until now. The three USB ports are wonderful, and my husband has thoroughly enjoyed using the HDMI port to stream video off of the internet onto our big screen.
Only con--the battery doesn't last all day. Boy, that would be nice...but the features that you receive for the price, plus HP and B&H support--it's a great deal.
I use one of the school's Macbooks where I teach and while I love all things Apple, I keep finding myself switching over to the HP to work on lessons, grade posting and such. Had debated whether or not to get a Macbook instead of the HP, but I'm glad I didn't. The features for the price are unbeatable.
