Comments about Acer Aspire AX1800-U9002 Desktop Computer:
I love this computer, I have two desktops and its small size fits nicely in my computer desk next to my other desktop. The processor is quick, and applications open in a flash. Over all very nice.

Comments about Acer Aspire AX1800-U9002 Desktop Computer:
Mostly this compact computer is used for multimedia playing, photo editing and reviewing,in addition to general home use.
It is powerful with Q8300 CPU and 4G memory, ample storage capability.
The weakest points:
1.the integrated NVIDIA 7100 is scored 3.3 under Win7, although Q8300 scored 7.2. Fortunately I am not a game enthusiast anymore, its performance is pretty satisfactory.
2.the power supply is 115watt ONLY.Thus you should be very careful with the next component you want to add to it-in term of both power consumption and size .
3.it has VGA and HDMI output but NO DVI, I have to buy a HDMI-DVI cable to get better images on my viewsonic VP2365wb with an ips panel.

Comments about Acer Aspire AX1800-U9002 Desktop Computer:
The Acer Aspire AX1800 manages to pack a lot into a small package; the compact case is barely larger than a hardcover book in length and height, and is only about 4.5" in depth. Even though it is running a Core 2 Quad Q8300 processor, the unit runs quietly. It is happy on its side as well as standing up.All manufacturers tend to load their systems with "trialware", but I was happy to see that Acer limited it to the usual offering of McAfee Anti-Virus, and a few others, including a Norton "on-line backup" utility and Nero Essentials. All were easily removed using Add/Remove in Control Panel, and there's no evidence of persistent trialware that will be hard to remove. There are a few Acer-specific utilities you should keep, one enables the keyboard hot keys for launching a web browser, email client, and controlling media (sound, fast forward, rewind, etc.) A volume control dial is also included at the top right of the keyboard that I find very handy. Other utilities include a nice backup and recovery utility with a recovery image located on a hidden "D:" partition of the hard drive. All of these utilities start with the name "Acer", as in "Acer Hotkey Utility", so you can easily distinguish the good ones from the trialware. The unit does not come with recovery DVDs; instead, a utility prompts you to burn your own. There are three recovery DVDs and one "Drivers and Devices" DVD to create. While a minor annoyance, as I would rather have pre-burned discs, the Acer utility at least allows you to create more recovery DVDs at any time. The one annoyance that remains is the super-bright LED that doesn't appear to have a way to be dimmed. When putting the computer in "sleep mode", the LED flashes. It is just slightly dimmer than one of those hazard barricades you see on the road; it is definitely something I will be changing at some point (or masking with tape). To be honest, I haven't looked to see if there's a bios setting that dims the LED; I certainly can't find anything on disk that controls it.With that minor quibble aside, I am very happy with the Acer AX1800 desktop. Using this for editing, considered buying the Sony VAIO VGC-RM2U. But this thing outshines it big for the money! Paid only [$] for this Acer as opposed to 5000.00 for the Sony. Glad I held out. Incredible buy!

Comments about Acer Aspire AX1800-U9002 Desktop Computer:
This very compact computer has a new Acer eRecovery system, much superior to prevous versions. If your Windows 7 crahes and it is necessary to make a complete restore, eRecovery will rescue your data files and transfer them to the D patition of the harddrive from where they can later be transferred to your preferred locations. I have not fully investigated the eRecovery system. It has other features also. I advise any user to carefully read the Acer webpages that contain info on the on the eRecovery system. Also be sure that when you turn on the computer, the first thing you do is make the default system disks recommended by Acer. It takes 3 DVD's to do this. These can be used to recover your system no matter how badly your harddrive may be corrupted.
This is my third Acer computer. I have a 4-year old Aspire desktop and a 3-year old laptop. They are both used daily mostly for processing photographs and for artwork. I have never had trouble with either Acer, but I have had all kinds of trouble with MS XP and Vista operating systems on these computers and even more trouble with computer experts who attempted to fix the systems for me.
Be very careful about letting the seller remove bloatware from your computer. Some of them do not understand Acer computers and they remove Acer programs that are necessary to maintain the health of your system. My advice is take the computer home, make the default disks, then remove unwanted programs in control panel. If any parts of unwanted programs get left on your drive they do not do any harm. With a 750 GB drive, space is not a problem.
The keyboard and mouse have USB connections. I use an Acer H233H monitor. No problem with the computer recognizing these. The screen display was adjusted automatically and is fine.
I am not fully using this computer yet. I have had delays getting peripherals. For instance my KVM switch was sent by Belkin to the wrong address. This new Acer and old one share the monitor, keyboard, and mouse through the Belkin KVM switch. Installing this switch and and photo applications shows some incompatibility with Windows 7. After putting in this switch and my applications my displays were stretched stretched sideways. I made every kind of adjustment to cure this and nothing worked. And rebooted and rebooted. Windows media player where you use the cue balls to adjust aspect displayed fine. But nothing else did, including web pages. I sent in a number of error reports and incompatibility reports to Microsoft. Then I turned on the computer in the evening and everything worked fine.
This computer is extremely fast. Also very quiet. I think the reason Windows 7 loads so fast is not because it is such a wonderful program, but because todays computers are much more powerful.
A drawback to this compact computer is that it cannot be upgraded with more memory or a better video card. The video is integrated and uses half a GB of the 4 GB of RAM. You can't ever make it better than it is. But, I like it the way it is. I can move it around in my house easily and could even take it on a trip with me.
