The Aspire Timeline AS4810TZ-4508 Notebook Computer from Acer is an ultra-slim 14" notebook computer with a wide 16:9 aspect ratio LED backlit display. Designed with all-day computing in mind, the Timeline's energy-efficient design allows it to operate for more than 8 hours on a single charge.
The system is about an inch thin when closed, and weighs only 4.4 pounds. Up for almost any computing task, it is perfect for e-mail, school work, financial management, and entertainment. The computer's multi-gesture trackpad and comfortable keyboard make it a joy to use.
The system is powered by a 1.3GHz Intel Pentium Processor SU4100 CPU and boasts 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, a SuperMulti DVD burner, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and an integrated webcam. Graphics are handled by the integrated Intel GMA 4500MHD card, and Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is installed as the operating system.

Based on Principled Technologies' benchmark testing, using Bapco's MobileMark 2007 Productivity test. Battery life varies depending on product specifications, computer settings, and applications or features launched, and may be reduced if Windows Aero is enabled. The Acer PowerSmart button must be enabled to achieve the 8+ hours. All batteries' maximum capacity diminishes with time and use.

I bought this laptop for work & chose it over similar laptops because of the long battery life. True to its claim, it DOES have an 8 hour battery life! Great screen color, resolution and brightness. Nice feeling keyboard, although the keys are a bit slick. One thing that is taking some getting used to is the touch pad, which is textured. This means that it isn't as "sticky" as other touchpads, and it sometimes doesn't recognize commands. If only they had switched the slickness of the keys with the texture of the touchpad.

We've had this Acer notebook for about a month and have no complaints so far. It's extremely light and easy to carry. Battery life seems to be about as long as advertised so far. This is our first home notebook, so not much to compare, and we don't use it for anything too heavy-duty, but we've definitely been pleased so far. Might be nice if the keyboard was a little bit more ergonomic, and I think the touchpad has some nice "two finger" features, but I haven't been able to master them all yet. Those would be the only two slightly negative comments I'd have.
