The Aspire One AOD250-1197 Netbook Computer from Acer is a compact netbook computer with a 10.1" LED Backlit LCD display. The 2.8 pound system won't weigh you down, and features 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and a spacious 250GB hard drive.
The system is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Processor N270 CPU and boasts 1GB of RAM. It features a memory card slot for digital photo import. Windows 7 Starter is installed as the operating system.

Super light. Easy to slip into a regular briefcase because it is so small. Keyboard ergonomics aren't bad for a netbook. Buy a wireless or USB mouse to help that, though.
Seems fast on Internet and when starting for a 1GB RAM computer. That may be a function of Windows 7--this computer has the starter edition, which is okay for a net book.
250 GBs of HD memory rocks for this price point.
I surf wirelessly, but computer has a place to plug an ethernet cord.
I have no complaints that would prevent me from buying again. Download open source word processing and photo editing software, and you have an excellent portable computer at an inexpensive price.
AC adapter cord has good length and is the block is small. Gets a bit warm while charging, though.
This things runs at least 6 hrs plus on batteries.
Has three USB ports and a handy, built-in card reader I use to read SD cards from my camera.
Volume on speakers could be louder, but what can you expect from a laptop. You can always plug in a headphone. You can use the blue function keys to raise or lower volume easily, which I like a lot.
Has a web cam, but I have not used that.

Got this netbook as a way to store my digital photos on the road. Works by either plugging in the sd card into the card reader or plugging the camera into the usb port. While in NY city, stopped by B&H Store, and picked up 2gb ram. 2 min job, cost [$]. (If u can stop at B&H in NYC you should, its an unbelievable operation.) I "conditioned" battery as per instuctions, never timed battery life, but it's got to be like 6-7 hrs, at least. Win 7 starter DOES include media player, was watching mp4 movies on the plane. Great for plane, fit nicely on tray table. You just need headphones (noise cancelling headphones are GREAT on plane!) Keyboard a little cramped, as u might expect. Got a Logitech V220 wireless mouse, works great with this.

i use it mostly for research on the web and typing papers for school. it serves my needs really well. i like its simplicity,portability, and affordability.
no real drawbacks. it is a netbook so the screen is small but i'm still able to watch things comfortably.

Its a great product. It is lightweight, doesn't get too hot, has a really long battery life. Screen and Keyboard is very small, but easy enough to get used to. There is no CD slot.

I'm totally happy with this netbook (so far). What else is there to say? It runs smoothly, looks good, and does what a laptop does. I'm happy with its size; it never feels too small to me. The keyboard is definitely on the small side (duh!) but it works fine and my average-to-large hands don't feel cramped on it. The battery's good, though not amazing. Watching a movie on it (with my external disc drive) uses around half the battery. So yeah. I'd definitely recommend this if you want a good but cheap netbook.

Perfect size to sit on your lap. Worked right out of the box with the wireless router that I already had set up in another room. Not very fast and freezes sometimes, but that could be my router connection. Have not had a chance to see how long a battery charge last. I have been using the AC cord. I bought it for travel and it will be the perfect size and weight. All I need for email and internet searches. Keyoard is of good size and feels natural, not cramped. Nice size screen. Love the sapphire blue color.

This product is great for students like me who are about to enter college. It's good for writing papers, connecting with friends, researching or just surfing the net. The only thing is that it doesn't have a slot for a cd, but it is not necessary because it has a three USB cable outlets for flash drives. Great buy!
