Comments about Acer Aspire One AOD250-1838 Netbook Computer (Ruby Red):
While compared to my desktop this puppy runs like syrup, I expected that and so am not disappointed in its performance in any way. It's wonderfully portable and the LED screen is incredibly sharp and bright (I had to turn the brightness way down). The touch pad is one of the best I've encountered, but since I don't much like touch pads, I got a small mouse to travel with the computer. The keyboard is virtually full size and has a terrific touch - I've had little trouble moving from my desktop to the netbook to work.

Got 2 of these for my girls for Christmas. They like them and both seem to work as expected without any issues. The battery life is great. Not so sure about the Windows 7 starter OS. Its very basic. Got them from B&H because thats where I get all of my photo equipment and they never let me down and provide great customer care.

Comments about Acer Aspire One AOD250-1838 Netbook Computer (Ruby Red):
Very happy with this computer so far.
The keyboard is small but after a day i am used to it and barely notice a difference.
The screed is very clear, sometimes you have to zoom out to see web pages because they don't fit horizontally, but, its only a minor problem and with a computer this small you have to expect that.
I haven't had any trouble with the multi-gesture mouse-pad. I've heard of people complaining that it doesn't work well but, i'm not one of them.
Windows 7 is really good, its like a better, faster version of windows XP.
The battery life is phenomenal. right now it has 48% left and it says 4 hours 5 minutes remaining. The only problem with the battery is that it sticks out a lot and the computer won't fit into the case i got for Christmas. So make sure if you buy a case that it fits. Though I prefer to have extra battery life over it fitting in a standard 10.1" case.
Wireless internet is FAST! i only have a cheap wireless g router and standard high speed cable internet at home and I downloaded a program the other day at 1.3 MB/s. Never downloaded that fast before...
Overall i am extremely happy with this computer, it was definitely worth the money. I don't think ACER computers get a lot of play with computer reviewing agencies but, this is my second ACER and i haven't ever had any troubles other than minor things.
Note: I bought a 2gb memory upgrade for it. i never tried it with the 1gb but i would recommend upgrading because 1gb isn't all that much. Upgrading it yourself is extremely easy 2 minutes tops! open the door on the bottom unclip the ram chip and push in the new one. easy!
