OK, so it's 1.4 HDMI. Not sure of all the hype and variances in prices, but I decided not to low-ball the cable (too much), but also not go ultra-extravagant with outrageous Monster prices! (Cables being used w/a Sony Bravia 3D TV). Personally, (and from what I've read in C-NET and Consumer Reports), cable prices and performance is mostly hype, but these were one of the few cables certified as 1.4 (for 3D and internet / wireless applications). Overall, the picture isn't any better or less than what you see in showrooms, and I'd venture to guess those showrooms don't use outrageously priced cables. So would a lesser priced cable yield the same quality picture? I don't know. The only drawback on this particular cable is that the ends are a little on the large side and if you have limited room for connections on your TV or AV system/home theater, it's a potential show-stopper. The cable is fairly flexible however, so even in a tight space, bending the cable to conform it to limited space may not be much of a problem. Overall, I'm happy with what I got and consider it "fair value". Yes, I'd recommend this cable.
