The interface to Canon EOS 7D is chalk full of errors. Can not import photos and can only read JPG's and one type of RAW. I prefer to shoot RAW and then post-process to gain full control of final photo. This software simply can not handle RAW from the EOS 7D. In all fairness, it does function properly with RAW from my EOS 20D. So the issue may be due to the newness of the EOS 7D.
That said, ADOBE customer service leaves much to be desired. My initial contact with Adobe via the web provided significant detail as to the problem including results of my troubleshooting steps to make sure problem was with Photo Shop Elements and not due to some other reason. The response that I got from Adobe's customer service made me wonder if they read any of the info I provided. Rather they asked a slew of unrelated questions such as "Do all users of the computer experience the same problem?" It has been 10 days of email exchanges between me and Adobe with no sign of hope in getting satisfaction. Owners of recent hardware advances beware.

Comments about Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements 8.0 Software for Windows:
I use Photoshop and Elements for family photos and videos. I have 40 years in the production business -- video, audio, photo, and print -- and this package was easy to use right out of the box; a "rookie" would have no problem. Most functions are intuitive, but someone new to photo or video editing might profit by buying one of the many good aftermarket manuals on Photoshop or Elements, because -- like most of today's software -- the printed documentation is minimal. Having a book you can sit down with rather than searching the software's help functions would just be easier.

Comments about Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements 8.0 Software for Windows:
I use LRM2 for quick editing, elements for few adjusments layers, and use CS3 for heavy overhauling for composites and real finer adjustments. Premiere is used as a beginner video editing software, but it is really versatile and you have the option to upgrade to the pro version later which was the main reason I bought this product beside the price. Elements is real user friendly and helps learning photoshop from the ground up and gives professional results in a nondestructive way.

Comments about Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements 8.0 Software for Windows:
Elements has all the editing and image management tools that make it worth the value. At times. it is slow to load and welcome screen seems oriented towards user creating an Adobe ID to access on line storage and backup. Creating a slide show of photos to burn to DVD was extremely slow in Premier.I would opt for the stand alone elements software and purchase a drag and drop software to create DVDs.

Comments about Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements 8.0 Software for Windows:
Easy to install and easy to use. The program is a little slow and the photo organizer is good, but not great. It would be nice if the organizer and editor were merged together better. Overall, I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

Comments about Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements 8.0 Software for Windows:
I've used Photoshop Elements forever and my 4.0 since it first came out. PE 8.0 is a well thought out improvement over PE 4.0.
I like the new workspace and the intuitive tools. I don't like that it is a slower than PE 4.0 when it comes to printing and a few other applications, but that's a tradeoff that is pretty acceptable.
I was really motivated to get this package because I wanted to get Photoshop Premiere for editing HDTV movies from my digital camera. I'm still a novice at video editing but I'm beginning to get the hang of it.
So far so good.

Comments about Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements 8.0 Software for Windows:
It is very useful for non complicated slide and video presentations. Very simple to use and does most things that need to be done for uncomplicated presentations. Is it any better than Photoshop 6 and Premier 4? Not much, maybe not worth the upgrade.

Comments about Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements 8.0 Software for Windows:
When I got my HD video camera I wanted to upgrade my software to edit HD. This Elements will be fine, however my hardware is under size and essentially does not let me handle HD, so I am shooting SD just to get acquainted with the software. The package appears to be very complete however is a tax on resources. The minimum 2Mhz with 2GB ram are for SD only.

Comments about Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements 8.0 Software for Windows:
I haven't used it much. EVERY "frame" I have tried to use I get a message that it is only available for "plus users" and asked if I want to upgrade. I thought having just bought the latest edition of the program that everything in it would be available for use and had no clue that buying more would be required to use what was already in the program

Comments about Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements 8.0 Software for Windows:
I had been using the prior version of this suite. This package simply can't be beat for the price. It is perfect for amateur video. Other video editing packages may be more advanced, but they don't offer any Photo Editing like what you get with Photoshp. For me, Photoshop is a crucial part of my video production. I'm running this on Windows 7 and it has worked flawlessly.
