The good: Integration with canon scanner software, and EOS camera, editing process, organization of photos. Use of tags, and who is this feature. It works with my windows 7 64 bit operating system. Love the sacking feature.
The bad: Inability to specify which Email software is used for sharing photos, not able to control a specific location of a photo in the organizer (pictures with the same date), no indication as to which photos have been backed-up

The newest edition of Elements is very slow to open, very slow and erratic in scrolling through pictures, very slow to work through the editor functions. The program crashed (and auto rebooted) the first time that I used it. It also still does not have a "keep original" feature when editing RAW photos. If "Elements 7" is still working well, don't bother to upgrade.

I upgraded from a much older version of Elements and I couldn't be happier. Adobe has designed a top notch photo editing program.
Much more tools and features then I would ever need.

Comments about Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 Software for Windows:
Does a good job but a little lacking in the "help" areas. If you have photoshop experience, you will do fine. If you don't, you might want to look for a class or get with someone that knows what they are doing. Otherwise, you will probably miss out on some of the neat thing this program can do. It does alot of things very well, and some things so-so. I have not used the "Organize" section yet.

Comments about Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 Software for Windows:
I got my first digital camera back in the mid 1990's. Several point-and-shoot's later I've "graduated" to DSLR. All along (including with the DSLR) I used the software bundled with the various cameras. I grew tired of the limitations of bundled software and started comparing different software aimed at consumers who want to do more, but who can't justify the expense of full-blown processing suites. I decided on Adobe Photshop Elements 8.0 for Windows and it has exceeded my expectations. Once I started experimenting with Photoshop Elements 8.0 I realized just how seriously I had been limiting myself by using only bundled software. It is almost like having a darkroom on my computer. I can crop and perform the other basic changes bundled software performed, but it also allows me to correct camera distortion, adjust color variations, apply filters, correct horizon, work with layers, and more. It's a lot more complicated than bundled software and will take a fair amount of getting used to but Adobe has more than 30 tutorials - 30 FREE tutorials - available online 24/7. The process of learning Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 has been a pleasant one. Further, the results of what I'm learning (my images) are enjoyable not only to myself, but also to the people with whom I share them. And that's what it's really all about.

Comments about Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 Software for Windows:
For an individual like myself that has limited skills with the computer but would like to store, retrieve, and do some simple editing photoshop elements is just the thing. The advanced members of the photoshop family are appropriate for pros who want to spend a lot of time tweaking every detail and virtually recreating photos. The menu is pretty intuitive and easy to use. the organizer does just that, allowing you to locate any photo. The weakest point for me is the need to have something in my hand to study in order to improve my editing skills. For that you will need to purchase one of several excellent manuals for photoshop elements.

Comments about Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 Software for Windows:
I really like the Elements software I started with 4 and have progressed to Elements 8 I am a little disapointed in it as it seems it is geared more towards organizing than editing, the adjustment sliders are confusing and no serious upgrades in full edit mode. I will however continue to be a loyal customer.

Using with the raw plug-in to edit photos. The raw plug-in makes it not so great but just good enough.Things not so great about it: looks like designed for kids to play. It's much too expensive for the price, it would be a great and competitive application if priced around $20.

Comments about Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 Software for Windows:
I use it for editing technical photos shot with a Canon Sureshot point and shoot camera. It is fairly easy to use, and has a wide range of capability.
Like a lot of Adobe products, such as Photoshop, instructions for use are not particularly good. A purchased users guide is recommended.
I would recommmend this to a friend.
It is the "best bang for the buck" for a photo editing program.

Comments about Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 Software for Windows:
I bought Photoshop Elements 8 when a computer crash forced me to reload PSE 6, only to find that I had misplaced the 24 digit serial number, and was stymied. So to continue with my hobby, I
acquired the latest edition of PSE that I could find (Remember to keep your serial number in a safe place).
So far I am quite pleased with it-it is faster, and already contains the RAW file editing routines for my camera that were only available in PSE 6 via cumbersome downloads. The print routines are different, but provide useful formatting tools that make getting your cropped image to the paper a bit easier.

Comments about Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 Software for Windows:
This seems to be a very good program. I upgraded from an embarrassingly old version and this one is very different -- in a good way. A manual in PDF version would be great. But, since it doesn't come with one, I have found that the Adobe website has great tutorials (both video and written) that help me learn how to use and where to find the features I want.

I cut my teeth on Photoshop in 1999 - but I can't aford to keep the professional version on my personal computer. There's no other program out there for home use that has all the tools and features as Elements.
