Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) (OEM) from Microsoft is the long-awaited successor to the ubiquitous Windows Vista operating system. Building upon Vista's impressive feature set, Windows 7 adds many features which simplify the way you use your PC, as well as the way that your PC connects to the world.
The Home Premium edition of Windows 7 is designed to meet the needs of the modern home. Designed with entertainment and Internet use in mind, the OS features improved desktop navigation, improved speed, the Internet Explorer 8 web browser, Windows Media Center, and HomeGroup networking. This version is meant to be installed on 64-bit systems.
Note: The OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) version of Windows 7 can only be used with a single PC, and the license is non-transferable. Additionally, the software can't be used to upgrade a current version of Windows; it requires you to backup any data on your machine before you install it.

Wanted to give it 4 1/2 stars but rating system doesn't offer that. I am very pleasantly surprised that Microsoft finally seems to be getting their flagship software right. I bought the OEM version, and installed it on a new hard drive in an existing computer. It worked great straight out of install, with no real problems at all, so far, and I saved a bundle. I think that I am going to grow to really like this, as long as MS can continue to update and improve on the product and not mess it all up. So far, I really like Windows 7, and, as usual, B & H Photo was an awesome top-flight company to deal with.
Very good operating system, and B & H is an excellent(5 star) company to get it from. I would recommend this product highly.

It's on my home computer and I like the way it runns. I can do a lot more work with my pictures and always get good edited prints.
Comments about Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) (OEM):
I was looking for the latest version of Windows to install onto my mid-2010 base model 13-inch MacBook Pro. I installed Parallels Desktop for Mac and found that Windows 7 Home Premium would be my best choice since the main reason why I needed to install Windows on my machine was to run the GMAT Prep Software. I did some research to find the best deal and ran across B&H, remembered that I read many positive reviews about them in the past, and found a brand new OEM copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. This was exactly what I needed!

Needed Windows to run marketing software, and it does work just fine.
Apple actually simplifies the installation process with their own Bootcamp drivers for the trackpad and graphics chip, then you can update using Apple Software Update from Windows.
With its exposed registry files vs. administrator protected Unix kernel, Windows is a pain for me personally - using MSSE - every time I boot up (once every few days), takes about 20 minutes to update security files, but everything runs in a native Intel environment so actually works just fine. Plus with this installation disk there are no extra garbage files to remove, just the operating system and essential files are installed.

Comments about Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) (OEM):
I'm using this on my just-upgraded home computer. I was using the 32-bit version of Vista prior to buying Windows 7 in 64-bit trim. It's faster, though the interface is somewhat different. The big advantage for me was gaining the ability to go beyond the 4-gigabyte memory limit that I had with the 32-bit system.

Comments about Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) (OEM):
Using on a new MacBook Pro 13.3" (early 2011) purchased from B&H Photo.
Installed Windows 7 using the Boot Camp application that's on the MBP, & then created a virtual machine with Parallels 6. This configuration let's me boot in either Mac OS or Windows 7, or boot in Mac OS (set as default boot) & use Parallels to use Mac & Windows applications.
Only minor problem with install was due to the fact that I didn't know how to eject the Windows 7 CD so I could insert the Mac OS CD to install the Windows drivers that are on the Mac OS CD. Can't use mouse or trackpad at this point due to missing drivers. I contacted Apple Tech Support & was told to use the eject key at the upper right corner of the keyboard. It worked, & the rest of the install went smoothly.
Has been working to my satisfaction during the couple of week's I've had it.

I bought a Macbook Pro mainly for my photo editing but also wanted to continue with my office work (presentations and papers). After having used the Mac for a while it became clear to me that windows is a much better system when you need to do presentations etc. so I decided to take advantage of the included Parallels destop and bought Windows 7. I went to B&H and the staff recommended me this raw disk which is much cheaper than the normal version. Very happy about this deal. Can now work in Windows 7 on my Mac ...

I bought this specifically to install via Bootcamp on my Macbook Pro and to run Autocad, (which is now out on Mac - ouch.) I had difficulty installing it. It froze mid-install and I had to start over. Then it installed in about 15 minutes.
I downloaded an anti-virus which tells me every once in a while that it will restart my computer in 15 mins (or 4 hrs at the latest) - very annoying. Not sure whether to blame the anti-virus or Microsoft for this.
Other than this, it's pretty easy to navigate and has some nice new features. I haven't had any problems with it so pretty happy :)

Suggest getting this to run some sort of parallel for your Mac to operate programs you cannot with Mac OS. Simply does what it needs to do and easy to install.
