Honest Technology's VHS to DVD 4.0 Deluxe is more than just the perfect bridge between the analog world of VHS, LPs, or cassettes and today's digital media. Along with providing an easy, step-by-step method for turning your old home videos into DVDs or records into CDs, the VHS to DVD 4.0 Deluxe also directly copies footage from your HDV/DV or analog camcorder onto a DVD for convenient, high-quality viewing. You can even edit out bad footage and add transitions and effects along the way.
At the center of this process is the included VIDBOX, which requires only a USB 2.0 cable to power it up, making it ideal for use with laptop computers. Just connect it to your VCR, camcorder or turntable via S-Video or RCA cables, then output to your computer with the provided USB cable. The included software will take you from there.
Whether you want to burn to disc, export to YouTube, or add media to your iPod, the VHS to DVD Deluxe 4.0 is the all-in-one solution for upgrading your analog memories and music into the digital here and now.
Note! This product is compatible with Windows systems only.

I bought this to replace a Panasonic VHS-DVD auto duplicator where the DVD went out - don't buy Panasonic - their DVDs aren't user replaceable.
Does the job well. Make sure your computer is fast and not too busy - don't be indexing the drive or running virus scans while copying.

Not bad, when I got it the hardware did not work with windows 7, had to call the company and they had a download on their website that worked. I like the ability to create menus' and chapters with back ground music. Not so simple to figure out will have to do lots of reading. Background music has to be added in capture mode. you just can't capture a video and add music later. There is no sure way with this thing. Not every attemp will create a good outcome. You could spend 30 minutes waiting for a DVD to complete the burn process and just before it could finalize it stops. You have to play with the burn speed setting and try again. If you are looking for a basic unit to transfer your old VHS tapes and cassette tapes to DVD or CD this unit is not bad for the price. But if you are looking to do a little more advance work don't get this unit.

It's a no brainer, install software then plug and play. Video Quality is great a lil better than what is coming out of your VCR.
Dropped two stars because converter didnt come with it's own cables & the editing part of the software is a bit difficult to figure out; & when recording over 45mins video/audio becomes out of sync so is best you cut every 40mins.

it's step by step is easy to use, and i'm very, very happy with it. i'm not a computer person, and i'm amazed that i can convert tapes to dvd's, with no problems

use to copy analog (8mm) video camera to my PC and then to a DVD. Easy to use and works right out of the box.
Sometimes the DVD playback is a little jerky - might be the slowness of my PC - not sure. Still ok.
