The UL50Vt-A1 Notebook Computer from ASUS is a 15.6" notebook computer, designed with all-day computing in mind. The system's 8-cell battery can keep the notebook running for up to 12 hours on a single charge. The system is powered by a 1.3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 CPU and boasts 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive capacity, a SuperMulti DVD burner, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and 3 USB 2.0 ports. Comments about ASUS UL50Vt-A1 15.6" Notebook Computer:
The ASUS UL50 series is an elusive breed! Obviously, this was a good sign since nobody had one in stock. Luckily, after some searching online, I stumbled across B&H which promptly sent one out after placing my order. We couldn't be happier with the UL50VT-A1's thin profile and killer battery life. My wife uses this as her business computer and long battery life is a must. So far, it's done a good job of running MS Office 2010 and Quickbooks Pro. No complaints to speak of unless you're one of those that complains about fingerprints. Great job ASUS!

Comments about ASUS UL50Vt-A1 15.6" Notebook Computer:
Based on having this for only a few weeks....
Pros: Very light for it's size, good color, reasonable power/speed, good battery life although I have not fully pushed it to see how many total seconds I can get in the lowest power mode, two finger scrolling and three finger right click on the touch pad is outstanding - every computer should have this, the bottom of the computer stays much cooler then my previous notebooks, and for me (I often need to enter numbers) having a 10-key on a notebook is a big plus.
Cons:
Shinny surface of the case will never stay clean (what where they thinking), if the touch pad is too clean (e.g. new/first use or just cleaned) it does not work as well. As soon as you use it a bit it works fine - couple of days for me. Lastly the 10-key is a little small so it requires some adjustment particularly for the "0" key - minor issue.

Comments about ASUS UL50Vt-A1 15.6" Notebook Computer:
seperate discrete graphics allowing excellent time on battery. over clocked low power cpu
warcaft played on it no issues, standard settings with viewing distance maxed, while plugged into power
overall a great notebook for what it is, ultra portable largish screen with lots of extra power when plugged in
The UL80VT is the 14" version but other than that much the same
The UL30VT is a better alternative for portability if you can do without the DVD, when it becomes available
