The Kingston MobileLiteG2 Memory Card Reader is a compact, portable, multi functional card reader that lets you easily transfer digital data, photos, games, and music stored on memory expansion cards. I didn't absolutely need another card reader but thought this one would be useful, and so it has proved to be. Unlike my other card readers, it is specific to small memory cards, and I just began using the Canon G11, which takes SD/HD cards. I now keep this reader in my camera bag along with the camera and twice when I visited people in the last couple of weeks it came in very handy. I do have to use the attached cable, as the connection part is a bit broad for many computers, which have USB ports close together. It seems fast enough. There is a moveable part and I hope that will stay intact with use; time will tell. So far, I am happy with the cute device, and the price is certainly right.

I am not really a fan of the expanding/contracting protectors. I suppose they are better than end caps which get lost. So far, I've not had any issues with these units failing in any way.

My laptop does not have a built in card reader and my old readers did not support high capacity cards. I needed something small and reliable to carry in my laptop case. I chose the Kingston because of it's price and features. It is exactly what I wanted with no exceptions. There's nothing to fault. It does it's job and is well built. The pull out covers may not be necessary but are a nice option. You can't go wrong here. It reads the SD and SDHC cards easily. 'Nuff said.

We searched high and low for the right price and the right Memory Card Reader for our high school photography students. This was the best deal we found after a lot of searching and it works well with all of the constant use in the classroom. Easy to use, not easy to break. That is exactly what we need and fortunately we found it. We bought 20 of them and we are happy with our choice.

I normally just plug it directly to my laptop to download data from cards. I love that there's no chords and it's compact and easy to use. It also has a short extension which has come in handy whenever I use it with desktops where USB access is complicated.

Plugged it in, my Windows XP machine figured out what it was and boom it was up and running. No problem, seems to be fast and reliable so far.
the pull out covers are a little fiddly, but I just leave them pushed in.

I gave this four stars because it does exactly what it needs to do very well--it transfers my files off of my memory card. However, when you slide out the back side to protect the card readers, it's wiggly and feels like it could very easily break off. This does not apply to the part covering the USB connector, only the back side, so I just never slide it back and only slide the USB connector closed. I should probably give this three stars because I think this build issue is a big problem. I do, however, love how the reader is really small and it functions very well.

What I really wanted was an adapter that would allow a memory stick pro duo to be read in a SD slot. Apparently not available. I tested 4 readers and this was the quickest by a small margin. 1.7 gigabytes of raw files in 45 seconds. It does seem a little flimsy.

I bought it because i liked the size and on the package it says it works with Sony Memory Card Duo. In fact not only didn't work with the Sony cards but the back part came loose after a few uses with and SDHC card.

I needed an upgrade of my SDHC card reader and knew that Kingston was a reputable brand. I was skeptical at first because of the low price, but as the headline reads, what a pleasant surprise. The computer INSTANTLY recognizes the device and transfer speed is quite fast. I have an 18MP camera and have had no issues thus far with the images/video not transferring. So far, so good!

I bought this card reader to use with the memory cards in my Nikon DSLR, in lieu of shelling out $$ for a USB cable. The Kingston device worked as soon as I plugged it into my Mac's USB port. (Unlike the card reader I have for an older Olympus device, which requires drivers and still isn't compatible with recent systems.)

I seem to go through card readers pretty quickly and this is my first Kingston (my favorite brand for memory cards). So far so good. It's a little bulky which means I can't use the adjacent USB port on my macbook while this is attached. I like the lack of a cord--it just plugs straight in.
