Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT214 Tripod:
I love this tripod! I purchased the short column also and this baby gets really low. It has plenty of height for me, (I'm 5'6"), without raising the column. I put a Jobu-Design BWG 3 Junior gimbal head and a Acratech ACLB leveling base on it too. This gives me a rock solid tripod with a gimbal head and a quick leveling base that weighs in at only 5.2 lbs. I'm happy!

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT214 Tripod:
I use this tripod primarily outdoors. I use it with a ball head, and an Induro GHBA gimbal head with 300mm f/2.8, or other lenses with just the ball head. It is sturdy, light, vibration dampening and more comfortable to carry in winter. I have only had it a short while but have yet to find anything I don't like about it.

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT214 Tripod:
Recently I decided that I needed a new tripod. After reviewing the choices I bought the Induro Carbon CT214 Tripod. I was looking primarily for a sturdy carbon fiber tripod. One that would easily handle all my lenses and any that I may get in the future. Weight was somewhat of an issue as I carry my tripod on day hikes.
The Induro Carbon CT214 tripod was chosen as it was less expensive than comparable Gitzo, Gioto, and Manfrotto tripods. The height worked for me & I also liked being able to get a short central column for getting close to the ground.
Out of the box, the Induro Carbon CT214 tripod came with a carrying bag (that will hold the tripod with a decent sized head) and a separate case with spiked feet and tools. The tripod has screw leg locks. A half turn or so and they open or lock tight. The movement of the legs is smooth and gives the tripod a rock steady feel.
I primarily take pictures of nature scenes & macros. I have used the tripod with a 300mm lens and also with focusing rail. The tripod gave a sturdy feel to the camera without any noticeable movement. The legs quickly & easily moved into the various positions that were required for the shot.
The main thing I did not like about the tripod was after spending that much money I did not get an instruction manual. So I either figure out what to use the accessories on or I go online and look for it. Small point but cheapened the purchase. With such a good product they fell short on the details. That is why 4 stars and not 5

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT214 Tripod:
This tripod is a great finding with a great value. It's lighter, sturdy, and easy to put up and take down and all for the great price. I never have to go through a painful decision making to take a tripod for outdoor shooting (and a pain in my arm for carrying it around).

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT214 Tripod:
Everything I need in a tripod. Steady, nicely sized (I'm 6'2" tall) easy to set up and take down. Locking is solid with little effort, legs and center column slide smoothly. Significantly less expensive than that German brand although probably will not hold it's value as well. That is not an issue since I bought it to use, not to sell. I have no complaints so far!

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT214 Tripod:
This is by far the best tripod I've ever owned, I use it for portrait and HDR Landscape work.
Pros:
It is every bit as good as the big name brands that my photography peers use for a whole lot less. When I showed my new tripod to one he was clearly upset that he recently replaced a tripod with a very similar CF brandname for several hundred dollars more.
Cons: This has 4 leg sections which is not a problem most times but I shoot lots of HDRs to be be used as backgrounds and tend to drop in, shoot, and get out. 3 leg sections would speed up the process but normally I just leave 1 or 2 sections out so it's not a big deal.

The photo don't show what great this tripod are, 3 position legs for wildlife and more, very easy to mount it. I bought a large Head and it have a smaller case but I solve the problem with a nice modification on the case. I am happy now with it.

It's well made, incredibly light compared to my old aluminum tripod, and it folds down to a great size: just enough to fit into my carry-on suitcase. It's a simple, affordable set of CF legs.

Comments about Induro Carbon 8X CT214 Tripod:
I bought this tripod mainly to use for travel and portable use. I have an older Gitzo, can remember the model, but that thing with ball head must weigh close to 10 lbs. Although the Induro is less than half the weight of my older tripod, it feels as stable if not more so than the Gitzo. I believe that the carbon fiber has better vibration damping qualities than my older pod. Photos are as sharp with this light weight tripod as with my heavy Gitzo. In fact I like this Induro so much that it will probably be my main tripod in my home studio as well. The tripod comes with a nice bag that has room enough for the tripod with a Kirk ball head and the included neat little accessory pouch which holds the tools and spike feet of the tripod. Finally the non-rotating legs and easy "all-at-once" unlocking of the legs is such a huge improvement over my Gitzo that it justifies the purchase price of the tripod based on that fact alone.
