Comments about Seagate 8TB (4x2TB) BlackArmor NAS 440 Network Attached Storage Server:
I bought a network server for small business. I am a software developer but I do not have alot of experience in networking.
I had hoped that the product would work outside of the box. I setup the product and the dicovery was able to recognize the server but I could not map or access the preset volumes. The admin gui said the volume failed but did not give any more explanation.
So I deleted the failed volume and tried to setup a new one. With 8Tb this would have taken over 8 hours so I let the server run through the night but in the morning the server was sleeping and I could not reach it.
I tried to contact customer support but they said they were off on Friday and the weekend so I would have to wait til Monday. I thought this was unacceptable since I am running a business and cannot wait.
So I will return the product and try a similar Lacie product since I do not have alot of time to monkey with the product to get it to work.
