This thing lasts for ever. I bought two of them for overseas all day shooting with my EX1-R. I didn't think it would actually last as long as it says it would, but it sure does. I can go almost a full long day with one of these. I rarely ever get to the other battery on the same day.
It does add a lot of weight, but oh well. I just look at it as helping stabilize the camera more :) It does stick out the back of the camera about 5 inches whereas the normal one doesn't stick out at all. Though again I usually use the 5 inches that sticks out as a kind of shoulder rest. I actually prefer it to that normal battery.
And for the price you can't go wrong. Very happy. One downfall is that it does seem to take some time to charge, so be prepared for that.

...It is HUGE. I bought one for my EX1r. I like it but the only problem is that it doesn't sit flush in the battery compartment like the battery it shipped with. It sticks out from the back of the camera probably 5 or 6 inches.
Also keep in mind once you lock it into the compartment you also then need to plug the cord from the battery into the back of the camera.
Now having said all that, I haven't actually done a test but it seems to have a pretty loooooong battery life. I also like that it has an external jack so I can run my camera light off of it as well.

Comments about Series 7 EX-L96 14.4v 96W Lithium-Ion Battery Pack:
2 of these batteries and you have enough power for a whole day, and it actually doesn't weight that much.
My only complain is the way you monitor the level of energy left, since is on the top of the battery itself and not in the monitor.

Comments about Series 7 EX-L96 14.4v 96W Lithium-Ion Battery Pack:
The Series 7 battery is a good replacement for the Sony BP-U60 battery for extended run times plus the ability to power an on-camera light or separate monitor at the same time, which is something you can't do with the Sony batteries. I plan to use it on my EX1, EX1R and EX3 cameras. It's a nice alternative to running and gunning with the bigger AB and Switronix brick batteries which I also use but require a gold mount, longer power cord and tethered to a separate bracket or bag.
Make sure you read the instruction sheet carefully before using. Although the Series 7 battery looks like the Sony batteries and mounts on the back of the camera the same way, it must be connected to the camera via the DC connector. It will not operate correctly otherwise. The DC power cord MUST ALSO be plugged back into the battery female connector before recharging.
The DC power cord is not easy to disconnect from the battery's female connector without breaking a fingernail.

This battery lasts for 4 hours or more and has an output to run a separate monitor or external recorder. I used it for 3 hours with my F3 and KiProMini. It is long and does stick out but it's not an issue for me. All that power is what I want and need.

Bought it to use for 6 day documentary shoot. Lasted almost all day at least a good 5-6 hours. Only had to use this battery and a second one for most of the shoot.

I use this battery with a Sony PMW F3. It works great. Lasts a long time. I plug a multi d tap into it and can power the camera, field monitor, Litepanel micro pro, and a soon a Black Magic Shuttle. I am very pleased with this battery. It does stick out in the back, but that doesn't effect me at all.

I shoot and edit PR media events and this battery is all I need. I can shoot on average 7 hours on this battery. It does stick out about 3 inches farther than the back of the camera but it works well as a stabilizer for handheld shoots. The camera does not recognize the series 7 as a battery per se but as a dc in. You have to insert the cable into the dc in slot and your good all day. It does at a little weight to the camera but for me that balances it out.

Cheaper than buying individual EX batteries, this battery pack will come in handy during particularly long shoots. It also manages to balance the weight of my EX-1 so it's not as front-heavy anymore. A worthy investment, all in all.

This may seem like a battery that is too heavy but you have to look at the big Picture. How many times have you stop shooting to moss a moment at a live event. Ill deal with the extra few ounces to make sure I never have down time.

It does not work by attaching it to the camera. You have to attach another cable from the battery to the DC input of the camera. It is extremely big as well.

Comments about Series 7 EX-L96 14.4v 96W Lithium-Ion Battery Pack:
I love this battery - it lasts forever, recharges fast. I've used it for 5+ hours and it hasn't died on me yet. I actually like its size because it acts as a shoulder mount when handheld. The only downside is that it is difficult to tell how long you do have before it is spent, only a general on-battery meter. Reading the instructions you have to estimate, but that's manageable.

EX-L96 14.4v 96W Lithium-Ion Battery is a God send for those of us who utilize the EX1R for professional work as it enables me to operate the HDCam all day on one battery. It charges in little over 2 hours... I could not be happier with it's run time capacity plus having a AB battery tap enables me to power an on camera HD monitor as well.

Use this with my new Nanoflash and my Ex3.
It does not stick out as far as people say. The whole battery is only 5 inches long!
It does stick out further but it is totally fine and runs the Ex3 forever!
Must have, I'm getting another one :)

This battery is great for all day shoots. I film wildlife in remote areas often with no power. Having a couple of these is way better than hauling a backpack full of smaller batteries.
