Iomega 1TB ScreenPlay Plus HD Multimedia Hard Drive
The 1TB ScreenPlay Plus HD Multimedia Hard Drive from Iomega is an HD media player that connects directly to your television set. It allows you to play back digitally encoded movies and music without the hassle of hooking your computer up to your home theater.
The player features a 1TB hard drive for media storage. It connects to a PC computer via USB 2.0 for data transfer. An "A" type USB port is also present on the player, allowing you to connect an external hard drive or flash drive for expanded storage. The player supports HDMI, component, and composite video outputs for home theater connectivity. A remote control is included for navigation and playback control.

Nice price, easy to use and good storage capacity but I bought it to play HD movies and TV shows in my LCD and I couldn't do it since pretty much all those files are MKV so now I have a nice HD which can play regular video files on my TV.

I've got a reasonable collection of avi files. Over the years I've tried unsuccessfully to bring it to my living room using streaming devices and dedicated media players connected to external storage. This gives me a local, all-in-one solution. The component video and HDMI output gives me the ability to hook it up to my old Sony and HD TVs. If I have to find weaknesses - I'd point out the somewhat primitive menu structure and inability to play quicktime and mkv files.

I use this to store and play my digital video from my DV Camcorder, which uses mini DV tapes. I was disappointed that I couldn't play the raw digital files, but I had to convert them first.
Overall very easy to use, and good quality.

Awesome product. Being deployed, we have little access to television, but there are plenty of screens to go around. The ScreenPlay is easy to use and very portable. The only limitation is that you may have to convert some of the video files.
There are some complaints out there that the ScreenPlay will not play BluRay - it doesn't and it indicates as much in its description...

This was super easy to hook up and load, just like a regular storage drive. After dragging a few video files over to it, it played almost all of the file types that I had.
The only negative thing I can think of about it is that you will have to move the power adapter every time you take it back and forth between computer and TV. It won't work without it.
Otherwise, I was very satisfied with this purchase!
