For adapting to use the 100mm macro, this does the trick. Quality construction. For the price it could probably come with a case—at least a cap for the 58mm side so you don't have to constantly screw and unscrew the adapter off your lens.

This item was necessary to enable me to use a Canon MR14-EX with my Canon 100mm L IS Macro lens. I works as expected. Though you do need a 58mm lens cap if you wish to keep the Macrolite adaptor on your lens permanently. You cannnot have a filter (protection or others) mounted with the adaptor on the lens

Must get item for attaching macrolite MT-24EX on EF 100mm f2.8L IS lens. Without it, it will never be possible. It is strong and hold the macrolite well.

When you look at the price of the macro flashes or lenses, one would not understand why these needed accessories were not included with it. Not only it's overpriced for what it is, but also you can't use a filter or hood anymore when using this adapter.

This works well with the MT-24EX Twin Flash and the Canon 100mm macro f/2.8L IS lens. Only giving 4 stars because there is some tendency for the adapter to rotate a little loose or become stuck on (but still removable with a little extra effort). This is not a problem with the adaptor itself, but has more to do with the overall system of using the filter threads to hold on a flash. Not a big issue, but sometimes wish there was another way.

This is the simplest solution to enable using an MTX24 flash with a Canon 100mm IS lens. It's also the cheapest option.

This adapter is solid and fits snugly to both the lens and the flash mount. There is not worry of slippage. For most people this is what they need.

The main drawback is that it prevents you from using a filter. There is no glass in the adapter, it's just a ring so splashes or other hazards can get right to your lens.

For advanced users that want filters and more precise positioning of the flash heads, a macro flash bracket system is a better solution at a much higher price.

I use the MT-24EX Macro Twin Light Flash which directly fits the EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro, EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro, and MP-E 65mm lenses while adaptors are required to work with other lenses. The adaptor screws into the lens filter threads allowing the flash unit to be used on a wide variety of lens choices greatly increasing the versatility of the flash. This metal adaptor is of high quality and does exactly what it is supposed to do, ie creating a secure attachment point for the macro ring. I highly recommend this product.
