After buying a HP Envy 14, one of my biggest pains were the lack of battery life. The extra battery sleeve weighs quite a bit, and only gives a couple of hours extra battery, not doing it's job for something I want in my commuter backpack.
The XP18000 replaced the weight and has almost twice the battery life of the sleeve. In addition, using the extra tips I can charge my Netbook while charging my USB devices (phone/ipad*).
Only downside so far is that some devices (like the ipad) doesn't allow full charging (only sustained power/instead of battery) from USB, and the lack of Mac power tips. The last one is crucial for those with Mac (this is not a Mac compatible product).
Would buy (and recommend) again any time for PC users.

This battery runs my Lenovo ThinkPad T60 for 45 minutes before it is completely dead. However, this is also when I am charging my internal laptop battery, and then I can get another hour and a half out of it. This battery doesn't do miracles, but it does meet its spec. Check the amp-hour rating, and compare it to your product. Don't forget to do some conversion with the voltage, and then account for loss.
It came with several tips, but does not include a micro USB, nor a tip for the T60 series of Lenovo laptops. You can have them overnight tips to you if you need them.

Read about the tip using the travel cable from apple to charge the macbook pro with XP18000. Lucky to have found this cable call baxter for macbook pro instead of the apple travel cable. It works like a charm! I can now double my usage using the baxter cable with xp18000.
For macbook users, the cable have one end of the macbook pro connector with another end for connecting the xp18000. Highly recommended.Must have for road warriors.

Very good, I take flights from east coast to west coast all the time and this works like a charm. After 1.5 hrs of battery life for my Dell XPS I just plug this in and gives me an extra 1.5 hrs. I don't know if it last longer I just usually use if for 1 hr to 1.5 hrs.

I bought TWO of these based on the advertisement that they would power a laptop for up to six hours. Ha! I have a Sony Vaio and the BEST I get is 3 hours when I am simply working on DOCs. Forget about long life if you watch video or anything power-intensive. I was on a long flight recently (9 hours) and I drained BOTH batteries before the end of the flight!

The Good: Easy to use, large number of power tips supplied.
The Bad: Will not charge ipad / ipod / iphone via USB but these devices will keep running just fine without the special tip. Requires a special power tip that must be ordered to charge. With the large amount of apple users at least the usb charging tip should be supplied. Multiple USB ports would be great.
Using with a macbook requires another power tip that needs to be ordered and an apple airline adapter or other splice workaround.

As a student i find myself in lectures, conferences and meetings in all sorts of rooms where rooms were setup back in B.C era and don't have power outlets. Hence the usefulness of this nifty device. I use it to recharge my camera for recording lectures and then beyond that to power my laptop for extended sessions.
Best thing though is that the manufacturers allow multiple tips for the devices, up to 3 free per year.
So until they come up with some other charging source this will remain your best friend.

It is not very well suited for power-hungry machines.
I paired it with a Asus G73 that I run under Linux. The power manager went crazy as the machine was turning on and off the AC power indicator constantly. It may be a Linux problem only but the only fix I could find was to turn off the power management.

My MacBook air battery only goes 3-4 hours so in cafes I'm always looking for an outlet. This thing charges super fast, holds the charge, and gives me 6 more hours of pretty heavy use. So as your portable devices change, you can stay up to date.The box states that the battery will store a charge for a year, so it might be a good way to have reserved power around the house or office (for those winter storms when the power goes out). I've only had the device for about 2 weeks, but I find it easy to use and very dependable.
