Apple Remote
The Remote from Apple is a sleek and compact aluminum remote control for Apple devices that feature an IR port. Compatible with the Apple TV, iPod Universal Dock, Apple TV, and many Mac computers, the remote allows you to adjust volume, move forward and back, and access menus while playing music and video on your Apple device.

You'll be able to use it to control music from iTunes, pictures from iPhoto, videos in your Movies folder, as well as DVDs. You can adjust volume, shuffle, skip chapters, play slideshows, and more

I use this for my new TV. it came with their old plastic one that used to ship with everything. i found myself out of ignorance thinking that one was fine. until i used this one at my cousins house i had no idea how substantially better this remote is. it is made of aluminum so it feels like i could run it over with my car and it would be fine. it is sturdy enough that i can hold it end to end and try my hardest to bend it and it doesn't. very well built. it has an additional button in the center for just general navigation. once using it i realize how much i needed that extra button. also it is the perfect length for the hand, unlike the previous plastic thing.
Overall it is a very good product and if you use your apple remote a lot then you should get one of these.

I got this remote for controlling iTunes away from my desktop in my room. [...] was just as described. It does have a simple interface, which means limited functionality, but with the use of FrontRow on Macs, you can easily maneuver through a list of choices--from your movies folder, music, and others. The design itself matches nicely with the recent Mac computers.

I mostly use my Apple remote for volume and song control through iTunes instead of Apple TV or Front Row controls. The remote purchased was to replace my older remote which was the older design. I like the new design a lot. It is very sleek and light weight considering it's durable brushed aluminum case. I have no negative comments about the remote whatsoever.
