The Pelco SD4B1 Mini IP Network Dome System is a miniature dome system for indoor surveillance that can be mounted on a surface or in a ceiling. The video can be controlled and monitored over an IP network from any location across the globe. With an open architecture, the system can be used with third-party recording software, allowing seamless integration with any IP-based system.
The 100Base-TX network interface makes for live streaming to a standard Internet browser such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. The dome system supports three simultaneous video streams with both Dual MPEG-4 and Scalable MJPEG digital video compression modes. Offering autofocus abilities, this system is capable of capturing high resolution color images.
In addition, the Spectra Mini IP Black Dome system provides 10x optical zoom and 8x digital zoom. Audio clarity is enhanced with the system's bidirectional full-duplex audio. The zone blanking feature ensures that the camera can be customized to capture footage only in certain parts of the sweep. Four programmable zones are offered to either output blank video or be labeled with up to 20 characters each. One window blanking area can also be programmed. The unit incorporates 64 presets of which 53 are user-definable and 11 are pre-defined, with 0.5° preset accuracy.
For further ease of installation and operation, the menu can be viewed in six languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, and German). Tilt, pan, zoom, and preset functions can be programmed by the user, with password protection preventing unauthorized access.
The pan and tilt speeds are generally decreased in proportion to the zoom depth. The zoom speeds can also be controlled by the user. During pan motions, the Spectra Mini IP is capable of variable speeds ranging from a 'slow crawl' of 0.4° per second to a 'fast sweep' of 140° per second. In addition to being able to perform a continuous 360° rotation, this system also offers an auto-flip feature that enables the dome to rotate 180° and adopt a new position for surveying the area directly below the dome. The compass, tilt, and zoom are displayed on the screen. Locations of any labels or on-screen displays can be customized as per user preferences. Auto/Random/Frame Scan modes allow programmable limit stops.
Power to the camera is supplied by the Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) feature through the network itself. This reduces extra cable requirements, thereby saving installation costs. Alternatively, the dome system can be powered from a 24VAC power supply.
The Spectra Mini IP is certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and CE as a Class B device. The product is also Underwriters Laboratories (UL) listed.
