The 60W MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook and 13" MacBook Pro from Apple can act as a spare or replacement power adapter for your Mac notebook computer. Identical to the adapter that is included with the MacBook and 13" MacBook Pro, this is a great accessory to have if you use your computer both at home and in the office.
With an extra adapter, there is no need to transport your adapter and crawl under your desk to plug your laptop in each time you change locations; simply leave an adapter plugged in at home and at your workplace and you will have easy access to power in either environment.
Whether you would simply like the convenience of having an extra power adapter or if you have lost your original one, this is a great accessory for MacBook users to have on hand.

I replaced my previous MagSafe adapter after the connector, which frayed near the end that attaches to to the computer. This is definitely an improved design, which reduces the strain for the cord being removed from the computer. The only downside of this product is the price. Paying full price for an adapter that should not have frayed in the first place. That being said, it looks like Apple figured out the flaw and fixed it. I expect this adapter to last the lifetime of my laptop.

I lost my old adapter to my macbook and had to buy this out of desperation. It's [$] which is ridiculous, and the rubber exterior is really stiff and hard to use when I wrap it around the knobs. Some folks at B&H told me that Apple has this patent for a few more years, so the price of it doesn't look like it's going down any time soon. I mean, if the type of material that they're using for this adapter will last longer, that's terrific. But if you're looking to replace your old adapter and actually can afford to live without it for a few days, order either the old model, or hunt around for cheaper prices.

I needed an additional power adapter... new design for the magsafe connection works just as good as the original. I have not experienced any heating or sparking issues like other posts at Apple have said.

Comments about Apple 60W MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook and 13" MacBook Pro:
I use this with my white 13inch macbook (late 2008) model. I had to get a replacement for my original one, because it started sparking.
I haven't had any problems with it yet. It charges my laptop. It doesn't overheat like the old one.
The only thing that takes getting use to is the new plug that goes into the laptop. It isn't as easy as the original design to plug in. However it does feel more durable then the original one.

I looked all over the internet for the actual replacement for my Apple Computer Charger. Many were selling after market chargers. This site sold the actual brand replacement for the cheapest amount! Stop looking elsewhere. [...] No complaints at all. Thanks

This works as the one that comes on the computer, no surprises. It is very cute and modern Apple power cord, and is much slimmer than avarege PC's one.

This is a true Apple product and was an exact replacement for my old charger. The 90 degree charging tip means the cord does not stick straight out like on the old charger.

Comments about Apple 60W MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook and 13" MacBook Pro:
Works great, but I'll be more careful with this one -- the original adapter that came with the MacBook went bad, maybe due to less-than-gentle handling. Good Apple quality, and I love the magnetic connection.

my original one's wire came apart (great quality APPLE! NOT!) so I HAD TO BUY this one and it's still working.
It's a charger. nothing special about it- it is more stiff than the old one.

Does the job but I'm not too fond of the new design. I have a plastic hard case on my MacBook and now I can't have it on when I'm charging it. The sideways stem to the charger prevents the magnetic plug from going all the way in.

since it's an apple, any ripoff's off the net will be just that- a rip off, there's no choice but to give it 5 stars b/c it's the only thing out there. while costly, b&h charge is in line so this gets a thumbs up.

Comments about Apple 60W MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook and 13" MacBook Pro:
Just unpack it and connect it to your Mac and the outlet. The magsafe feature is so practical it makes you wonder why no other manufacturer offers it. I tend to move around and not pay attention to cables and often times I tripped and saw my work laptop crash in the floor. That never happens to my Mac. The only con I can think of is that it does not withstand a power surge (my surge protector failed); adding a replaceable fuse could be useful, speacially for those travelling abroad.
Comments about Apple 60W MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook and 13" MacBook Pro:
Does not work for 15" MacBook Pros. Also only for later than 2008 models.

Comments about Apple 60W MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook and 13" MacBook Pro:
I had the older model of the power adapter (I didn't know the adapter was improved) which burnt. I love the way this new adapter attaches to my MacBook. It doesn't stick out like the previous one but attaches more seamlessly which will prevent the cord from bending frequently, thus preventing it from burning as it happened on my old adapter.
