100 classics pre-loaded! Great ease of use, price, visibility, size... it's all good. No back light so it reads like a book - no problem!
I don't understand why it doesn't show up in all of the comparison sites. I would give it a top rating.

I picked up a Libre after purchasing one for my wife a couple months ago after I found myself appreciating hers. While it may not have Wifi or color or many other features on more expensive models, for the price it does everything we need it to do. It comes with a 2 GB SD card pre-loaded with a slew of books (older ones, free, but still nice if you like the classics) and it's easy to add new books to the reader. You can use some of the software products to maintain your library or you can just drag and drop the files on the to device after connecting it via USB or dropping the files on to the SD card.
It supports many of the common formats including epub, mobi, pdf, rtf, txt and probably others. It supports multiple font sizes and a landscape view as well which is handy depending on how you prefer to hold the reader.
The battery life has been good so far with one caveat; the unit I have does not seem to charge well when connected via USB to the computer. To actually charge the unit I have to plug it in to the wall. Not a big deal, but that's why I'm not giving this 5 stars.
Text is easy to read, the LCD screen (not e-ink) doesn't flash when you change pages and is legible in low light and bright light; the screen has minimal glare.
The Libre has a number of buttons and a slider on the side. It might have too many buttons but I've just found I use the few I need and just ignore the rest. Both the slider and the front buttons work for page turning; the rest are for other functions, bookmarks, menu, fonts, etc.
It has a built in MP3 player to provide background music while reading. I haven't used this feature yet so I can't comment on it.
My wife has historically had problems reading in a moving car which makes long trips really difficult since she is a bibliophile. However, with the Libre she can read in the car with no car-sickness; we think it's due to the larger font size. Your mileage may vary there, but it's another nice feature we enjoy about having the ereader.
All in all, it may not have the bells and whistles of the Kindle or the Nook but if you're looking for an entry-level ereader just to read books then it's a great purchase.

I purchased this because I wouldn't pay the high cost of a Kindle, which by the way at the time of this writing has decreased their price drastically, so I'm really upset. I guess for a reader the Libre does the bare minimum and allows one to read pdf and text. The mp3 function didn't work for me. My suggestion is if you're in search of a portable reader... don't settle get the Kindle or Sony reader.

I had never realized how useful an eBook reader could be. After many hours searching for the right reader, I found that this one had the most to offer for the money. It is easy to use, and you do not have to shut it off, it has a timer that if you do not turn the page will shut it's self off, and when you turn it on again it is where you left off. Reading is very easy on the eyes and different font sizes helps out. Background music is a plus. I would recommend it to anyone who is a first time eBook reader.

I'm reading my first book right now, and it works fine. I like the size and weight. I don't like the flashing light while reading. I've covered over it with a piece of electrical tape.
I'm not sure if you can delete information off the internal memory or not. It would be handy after finishing a book or looking at photos.

Libre does the job very nicely for what I think is among the lowest prices you'll find. What it lacks: back lighting and touch screen. I do wish it had backlighting for night-reading. But from my experience, touch screens can go funky on you, breaking and leaving you unable to navigate. What it has: a couple different page flip options, both of which are nice (a back and forth button set -and- a thumb slider on left side). Intuitive navigation controls make it easy to bookmark places and jump in and out of different books. And unlike the iPad, it multi-tasks...letting you listen to your MP3's, while reading a book. Tasty. Most people looking for an ebook already know about the Gutenberg Project [@] But Libre includes a memory card already loaded with about 100 classics. I'm sold on the Libre. Why pay twice as much (or more) for a device with minimally better graphics?
