This drive provided a quick and easy way to get organized. I now store all my multi-media files here and use it to backup my laptops. I also own a LaCie Ethernet mini NAS, I no longer use it for backup just to store multi-media and to stream to my xBox. So I am organized and have a simple redundant backup system. I like Lacie drives have no problem with them and the couple times I needed to contact support the response was great. What I don't like about this drive is the design it is just plain ugly not the usual Lacie pizazz maybe they tried too hard this time but who cares, it is pretty quiet and that's much more important. I am happy with my purchase.

I use this unit to back up my 250G MacBook Pro after wasting time and money buying much smaller units. It boots and runs flawlessly, but working from a standard USB cable instead of the blazing firewire on the more expensive QuadraDrives means it takes its own sweet time to complete the task. Since backing up is essentially a passive process, I don't consider this slowness a serious issue, but I would not try to use it for cross-platform editing of large files.

Using as storage drive for movies/tv shows connected to boxee on my mac mini. Only have had for a few weeks but it has been great so far. Does make a funny little noise when it first wakes up but other then that no complains.

The drive is nice in the outside, with a cool metal case and a face that resembles "The Phantom of the Opera", very stylish. it is fast, very quiet and with 2TB is a little drive with a huge storage capacity. I have it already at 60% of the capacity and is still fast. It is my first Lacie drive and so far, I love it.

Not much to say about these. Setup is dirt simple; this is my 3rd LaCie external hard drive. The only question you need to ask is how fast does it need to be based on usage requirements. This one is for occasional backup through a USB port. For quick access and archiving I use their rugged Firewire 800 model which makes short work of even my large image files.
