Comments about Apple Mac mini with Snow Leopard Server Desktop Computer:
Excellent server with MAC OSX server OS for home or small business. Wish it had a CD and HDMI port but for [$] you cannot go wrong, the new model costs twice as much.

Comments about Apple Mac mini with Snow Leopard Server Desktop Computer:
This is a great little server for a small to medium workgroup. We use a couple of them at work, but this one was purchased for my home use. Primary use is a file server for my Mac/Windows/Media Center computers. We have our music and movie library on it and shared. Our mini is paired with a Drobo (sold here on B&H too) for tons of storage. Secondary use is our family web page and email, all of which is fairly easy to get going with the OS X Server version on this mini.

Comments about Apple Mac mini with Snow Leopard Server Desktop Computer:
The MacMini server is a powerhouse in a small container. It has replaced an enormous G5 Tower in my home and has done by being smaller, faster, quieter, cooler and with more energy efficiency. Not to mention the dual drives for built in backup. Snow Leopard Server rocks. Its service set is great and set up is reasonably easy for a server environment. The only negative is the documentation for server is more like a giant getting started guide. A separate book is necessary to really fully set up and utilize server.

Comments about Apple Mac mini with Snow Leopard Server Desktop Computer:
I purchased this server to run TimeMachine backups from our portables in the house and also to play with the OS X server platform. I've also shared volumes across the network and plan on running parallels to set up a linux/freebsd setup.

Comments about Apple Mac mini with Snow Leopard Server Desktop Computer:
I was hoping to simplify my office on one operating system from computers to servers. The mac mini with snow leopard server was promoted as the server for the rest of us and easy to set up. It is not.
I've had to reload the software twice because of bugs that crippled it. I have yet to be able to use anything but the file server and vpn on the server (the first by my doing, the second with extensive help from my computer genius brother). Most frustrating is that iCal server will not work properly, so my desire for our staff to have shared calendars for our collaborative work is not yet a reality.
If I hadn't made some progress (again, with my brother's help) in the last week on the server, I would have sent it back. However, I think given some more time and expertise, I MAY get what I was expecting from the SL server software and the mac mini server.
