I had used the standard mount zip tied to my helmet a few times and it was hard to get it in a position with a good view angle. I was hesitant to spend the [$] on another mount as I had 2 different types already, mate am I glad I did! This thing gets your contour spot on for angles. It is just stiff enough to keep it in place when mountain biking (jumps etc) but can still be adjusted by hand, not needing any tools.Great mount, exactly what I needed, I wish I didn't waste my first videos my not having it! If you are getting contour HD and use a vented helmet, add this mount to your cart now and don't look back!!

Riding a street bicycle with 100psi can rattle your bones a bit but this mount keeps the shake out of your footage. Easy to install, easy to mount, easy to control. And I am sure with a little imagination you could use this mount on a whole lot more than just a bicycle helmet!

This helmet mount does the basic function of mounting the camera to a vented helmet but it could be improved. The tilting mechanism is pretty limited for example.It works but for a piece of plastic [$] is kind of a rip-off. $10 would be more appropriate.

I used the Vented Helmet Mount during a crit and the pin holding the mount together fell out. It not only forced me out of the race, but could of caused a crash if the safety strap failed too. [...]. I would NOT recommend this mount

Have had the mount for about a week. I use this mount with my Contour HD to record bicycle rides, namely my commute. Despite the slight vertical wobble with helmet-top mounting (haven't tried side-mount), the video is stable, probably because the Contour HD field of view is so wide-angle. The little straps tend to flap a bit and look like silly wings if you don't tuck the loose ends in. A small rubber band or section of tire rubber would hold them down if you can't tuck them. No danger of losing the camera on road rides; seems pretty stable.
