This DVD was included Free with the purchase of my Sony NX5U (bought it Thursday Jan 27, 2011). I am moving from the DV format (tapes) to this new all digital tapeless format and workflow. It is quite a bit different and this DVD highlights some of the important things to consider: Most importantly - File Management. There is also a pretty good high level technical discussion on AVCHD, Resolution Color Space, Compression, CODEC and some examples of the different kinds.
Sure a lot of this information can be found by googling it... but it's a lot easier if you're a novice to have it all presented to you in one place without having to go look it up and piece it together yourself.

Prior to owning the Panasonic 70 camcorder I didn't know a lot about the AVCHD format. I did quite a lot of reading before I bought the camcorder. I really can't say that this taught me alot. If you are a novice it will give you some basic knowledge. Beyond that it's just a video.

Great, clear, explaination, good comparisons , honest spelling. I would like to see much more image examples, and more graphics. numbers on boars to cmpare, and to remember more easily.
